What is the hardest exam you've ever taken?

Last week we had our respiratory exam. I'm in 2nd semester and up until this point the tests have been hard, but nothing like this. This test covered COPD (asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis) pneumonia, TB, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, CO2 Narcosis, Oxy-Hemaglobin dissacociation Curve etc... etc... and let me just say that this was the hardest, most mind blowing test I've ever taken. :uhoh21: Knowing the ABG's for the different diseases and why the levels are the way they are, knowing all the different drugs they take, why they take them, how they work and the side effects, understanding the diff diseases from inside and out, understanding the differnt symptoms for each disease and how to recognize them and on and on...... :no: As I was taking the test (ours are on the computers, so no going back) I felt like I was failing because everything looked much more foreign to me than I studied. I know they say those nursing tests are designed to be tricky, but they're wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. That test was worded so strange and it was the trickiest sh*t I've ever read. My mind was so tired by the time I was finished I felt like crying...for being glad it was over! I remember staring at once question for what seemed like 5 whole minutes trying to interpret it. Anyway..I passed and was in shock. :smiley_aa I ended up with a B and I don't know how it happened but it did and I'm glad it's over.

SO....what was the worst test you've ever taken? I'm curious to know so please reply. Thanks!!!!

Probably the chemistry ones. Yuck.

Mine was in a pre-req class. Pathophys.

It was 5 pages of questions like "if you were experiencing a type III hypersensitivity reaction what would you expect to see on a cellular level"

All of her tests were like that. Ugh.

I can think of 2 to add to the list.

1. My undergraduate pathophysiology final -- 4 hours long. It was supposed to be only 3 hours, but no one finished in under 3.5.

2. The preliminary exam in my PhD program, taken after the first semester. Two essay questions and 7 hours to answer to write two mini-papers to answer them.

1.) My advanced pathophys final for my Graduate program... brutal

2.) Graduate Comps... 4 hours on computer awful!!!

3.) final in my Advanced Health Assessment class... it was pencil/paper computer graded. I got off sync on one question, which made me off all the way down... Went to check my grades online, got an I and nearly needed intracardiac adrenaline. This instructor, though, to her credit, went back and checked my answers against the master and figured out where I had goofed up. Not many Grad school instructors would do that, most times you'd just be OUT:uhoh3:

Oh..I hate that! I did that once on a scan-tron and got the whole back page of the test wrong. Unforunately they didn't do anything about it. Oh well... I still passed it. :monkeydance:

2nd semester here too and we just had our respiratory test- same exact stuff as yours- and it trauamtized the entire class...not kidding. We all looked like we were in shock afterwards. I swore I failed but I got an 85...the class average was failing, though. Test was incredibly hard- my brain still hurts from it.

I was really not good at anything endocrine....having to know all those hormones and what they do (and what goes wrong) just didn't sit well in my brain. It's still by far my weakest area.

Worst eXam had to be ECG's and cardiac drugs mixed together. Oh it was a nightmare! I had about 120 pages of study guides ... i believe I passed though... with a 78 lowes tpossible score.

Aother bad exam was Fluid and Electrolytes, diabetes, and IV therapy... I totally failed that one!

Senior year of nursing--neuro....those cranial nerves drove me nuts.
