What Grossness Is Cool?

What thing do you think is really cool that every one else thinks is really gross?

I love it when we lance a big sebaceous cyst. I think it is so cool when all of that gunk comes out. Now, I don't want to touch it, I just like to watch. Totally gross huh.

for all of you pickers, I was on ebaumsworld, and they had a video of this guy with a boil or something on his butt. Then his friend lanced it open with a knife, and there was soooo much pus. very, very gross. those who like seeing tons of pus come out might want to check it out :rotfl:. Edited to add... this page has some videos that are adult in nature, but overall mainly funny videos. I don't remember where the video I am talking about it located however :(

OK I dont think this was cool at all but I have to share my worst gross experience I had a women who had come from another country onley months before her admission to th ehosp. (go figure she is sick and comes to the good ole USof A and gets free medical care BUT aside from my rant:angryfire she had a bowel movement that would make a cow proud and it was loaded with moveing creepy crawley worms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :uhoh21: ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can you say hyponatremia!!!! EWWWWWWWWWWW!!! I was a student nurse at the time so just imagine me inthe dirty utility room with this the hair still stands up on my arms when I rmember this 30 yrs ago.

Degloving is where the skin from an extremity is torn away from the muscle and bone. Usually an industrial accident. I've also seen it on rollover accidents where someones hand is out of the window. The rest of the anatomy was intact, just the skin was off. It turned out the skin was in a little ball under the wrist. The plastic surgon cleaned it up, stretched it back in place and stitched!!!! Very cool!!! I liked it, my co-workers think I'm warped

I had an end stage liver disease patient with a t tube in the other day. The bile coming out of it was dark black with little globs in it. Reminded me of motor oil that was in a car for 100,000 miles. I thought it was very cool.

I do love a good abcess! I also am facinated with blood clots! Over the past 15 years I"ve also eaten alot of things out of a clean, unused bedpan........salad, popcorn, cereal, hot chocolate, soup, etc........one trait of "a good nurse" is knowing how to improvise!:chuckle
