Please tell me what school and state.
how long it took you.
did you fail any pre-nursing classes.
3 year BSN Program 2.81 Pre-req GPA (all Bs except a C in Micro) and 3.4 Cumulative. It was a points based system so I basically had to have experience, have completed a previous Bachelor's, be a resident of the geographic area, get scores over 80 for reading and english and over 70 for math on TEAS V, and speak Spanish. I then was initially denied but was offered a spot when some of the accepted people got into other programs, creating an opening for me. My Pre-Req GPA was a factor in not starting an ADN program that I had applied for in Spring 2009 (was wait listed but they took high scoring applicants for extra spots opened up by grants) In total, 3 years since I first applied to nursing school. (would've been 2.5 for the ADN program had I been more responsible and taken the TEAS V in a reasonable time but my application was withdrawn, that is another story)
so after my semester ended. I ended up with these grades
physiology = c
microbiology=A
nutrition = b-
should I retake physiology over because, I took anatomy twice and personal reasons it didnt go well. But third time I got an C.
somes schools wont allow a point for you if you took a bio course more than two times. anyways, what are you advices.
3.71...i took my only 2 pre-reqs(alg and chem) 3yrs ago...didnt know if i wanted to apply or not....started taking some science co-reqs...a&p 1 and 2...while i was taking micro this past semester i applied(jan)...heard i was in begining of feb...i only have the nursing classes as my GE classes all transfer from my 1st degree back in 1983...yup...i am OLD
My GPA was only a 3.14 when I got in, I was put on a waitlist 5 TIMES and my GPA went down a little bit each time. I took A&P 1 over again, we need a 77% for Nursing, I got a 76.7% (it was out of 1000 points and she didn't round up). Anyway, hang in there, work hard, do your BEST, and you will get in!!! I just started the program yesterday, I live in Upstate NY
HI can you please tell us what school you got in.I know it super long but it will help a sister.
Hello,
I need some feedback. I was pre-med Biology at a decent University. My GPA was only a 3.1. However, my science GPA was a 3.5. I have taken above and beyond the Biology, Chemistry and Physics requirements. I wanted to be a doctor but my GPA is far to low. I am considering nursing. I am concerned about the low GPA still. What can I do to enhance my application packet? (aka... take AP 1 and 2 with a 4.0--- will this be enough to convince admissions I am capable of excelling in nursing?)
Please, let me know if you think I have a shot at being accepted into a nursing program? All of this competition is so stressful! Thanks Everybody! I really appreciate any help I can get! :)
