What EC courses did you have to take?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Hi all and thanks for reading. I am newly enrolled in EC RN program. I am currently waiting for the "official" transcript reading, but am going ahead with Transitions per their recommendation. Can anyone tell me-based on having had a regular Community College-type LPN education-what courses did EC require you to take? (excluding the CPNE as that is a given)

Specializes in Ambulatory.

I also just enrolled in EC for the transitional program, just for my LPN license 2 mos. ago and is still looking for a job..*sigh

I'm still waiting for my " official" evaluation to come through, but from the unofficial report, I need to take the nursing courses.

Wishing everybody the best of luck! :chuckle

i had to take info lit ..what a waste of $300 bucks then all the concepts except number 2... everything else i had ....just down to the cpne....

Thanks to all who responded. STILL awaiting official transcript reading, but am just about ready to take Transitions. Good luck everyone!

Specializes in Hospice, ER.

I just put in the request to have my latest transcript sent to EC. I also looked at the CLEP website and there are a few things I can CLEP if I need to.

I was talking to a co-worker last night about EC. Her concerns are, no preceptorship (3 wks following around an RN), and if EC graduates are accepted by the hospital. Valid points, but I from what I see, EC grads do just fine. She has a year of RN school under her belt and a BA in Education. I advised her to seriously consider EC.

Thanks all! I've really excited about EC! :D

Really. And to think that old people act old is ageist.

The one good thing I took from the course was a phrase - person/environment incongruity, a neat way to explain the confusion the dementing elderly face when placed into care.

I like that -person/environment incongruity- I'll have to remember that for future use.

I had all my courses done already from previous college attempts. Only have had to take the nursing concepts tests for EC.

This program is very good and very doable if one keeps oneself motivated and doesn't let it go to the back burner. Good luck.
