Nothing
Okay, so it is not because a nurse-student is someone who has already studied nursing?

Student nurse and nurse student are all synonyms for 'nursing student.' In other words, all three terms are one and the same.
However, when charting on legal documents and signing MARs/TARs during your nursing school clinical rotations, you would sign your name 'Jane Doe, SN' (SN is an abbreviation for student nurse).
