LPN's starting salary in the facility I work in is $23/hr, for new grads and we hire from within :) Meaning when I pass my NCLEX, I have a good job waiting for me!

Hey! I live in Buffalo, NY & I just got my 1st LPN job, which I start orientation for tomorrow! Base salary at the LTC facilty that I'll be at is $15.39. I, however, will be working overnights ( 11-7 ) so I will make $16.09. I will also work alternate weekends which is an extra $3.25 on top of the base pay. Not too shabby considering how cheap it is to live here! I'm from Jersey originally.

I've been looking for a new CNA position and at each place I've been able to speak with the DSD or DON, I've been told new grad LVN's start at $21/$22 per hour minimum. I'm in Nor Cal Sac area.
HTH!

$24.15/hour union position with full health benefits, dental, vision, union representation, tuition remibursement, and other benefits. I get an additional $11 a week for meals, $2/week for transportaion and $2 week for uniform. The union dues are $18/week but I am really only paying $3 due to the additions.
In Long Island where housing, cost of living is through the roof.

Interviewed with a pool agency- offering $18-21/hr, that is also going all over the metro and into correctional facilities. I made $23-24hr 13 years ago with the pool, now they are paying less?!
My last position, I made @$20.50 w/ shift differential of $1.50 for nocs, $1.00 pm, and $3.00 differential for charge nurse.
It is so sad to be the disparity in income for LPN's across the US and Canada. It is amazing to me that someone could go to school and come out of it making $10 an hour. I am also disgusted with the fact that I have been an LPN for 18+ years with vast experience and chg experience and am making $20.50 an hour and haven't had a raise in more than 10 years. WTH?
Sad and illegal, yes.
