Published

Hello Everyone,

I am just wondering what class courses will you all be taking for the Spring semester. I am taking two Introduction to the Human Body & Fundamentals of Communication.

I will be taking the following:

Nursing competency for professional practice with lab...5 credits

Nursing Assessment of the Well life family with Lab... 4 credits

Introduction to Family and community Nursing with lab.. 2 credits

Values Roles and issues in Professional nursing...2 credits

Pharmocology for Professional Nursing...1 credit

Hmmmm:confused: quite a load!!

Ann

I'm taking Microbiology, IF I can get in. They slashed the budget at my school so only 1 night class for Micro now instead of two, it's horribly hard to get into, and instead of registering on day 4 like I did last year for classes I am now registering on day 9 with no explanation whatsoever!

If I can't get in I'll be taking Pharmacology and Sociology 1.

Specializes in ED/Psych.

Providing I get accepted into the Nursing Program, I will be registering for Foundations of Nursing Therapeutic Interventions and Professional Nursing I which are the first two classes you have to take and are mostly theory with no clinicals yet.

I am also going to be taking Chemistry (II), Foundations of Psychological Research, and Ethical Issues in Healthcare so it is going to be a pretty busy semester! I am trying to get all of these things out of the way so that when I do start with clinicals, I will be better able to concentrate on that and not have to worry about any remaining cognates or required classes.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I will be taking:

Med/Surg 4 credits for the first 8 weeks

Maternal Child health (ob) 4 credits for the second 8 weeks

Pharmacology II 1 dinky little credit (I curse that class!)

Social Ethics 3 credits

Of course, I have to pass my second practicum & final exams first...

Specializes in ICU, psych, corrections.
I just don't se how, I'm going to understand all we have to know in micro...in 5 weeks.

Try taking it in 3 weeks!!!! It will be a real eye opener this summer. Hope I survive and my goal is to get a B....:chuckle

I have Nursing 102 which requires 3 weeks of peds, 3 weeks of O.R., and 3 weeks of O.B. with lab and lecture also

A one credit community nursing class.

Finally, Nutrition, which be go towards my BSN.

Chem for allied health

Bio medical eithics

Micro and lab

Algebra

Clep for Human Growth and Development over the break.

I feel like I should take something else since I don't work but I think this is a pretty good load.

NU 473 Nursing III

NU474 Nursing III practicum

NU 479 Professional Nursing Leadership

NU ??? Gerontology (elective- online)

NU 489 Nursing IV practicum

It will be my 3rd out of 4 semesters

Normally would take Research too but I took it last summer to lighten my load for this coming semester

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

for the spring term i'll be taking 11 semester credit hours of medical-surgical nursing courses (lecture, clinical lab/rotations, and informatics). i'll also be taking 4 semester credit hours of anatomy & physiology ii w/ lab. i'm sure i'll be very busy next semester because as i'm learning this semester, taking a & p along with the nursing courses is very challenging. this is the only science class i have left to take and i can't wait until it's over!! :o

Hard to believe that we are planning for spring before Thanksgiving... but I know I've signed up for these classes...

~Adult health I and clinical

~ Gerontology and a lab (I'm planning on taking a lab that features Pearl Harbor survivors... so interesting!)

~ Pathophys

~Health Teaching

~Transcultural Nursing: Big Island (this will feature traditional Hawaiian healing methods and we will take a 3-day field trip to the Big Island and visit a hospital that is state-of-the-art and combines Western and traditional healing methods)

I can hardly wait for next semester! I'm loving this!:D

Since we're on the quarter system at our school, for winter quarter (which starts Jan 5th), I'm signed up for:

Anatomy & Physiology III

A&P III Lab

Lifetime Development Psychology

Chem 103, A & P203, Micro biology, philosophy (applying to Loyola).

The school I'm currently at requires physics for pre-nursing students, is this common or out of the ordinary?
