What color is your stethoscope???

Published

I'm starting my nursing program this fall and I've settled on the Littmann Classic II but I can't decide on a color. I was originally going to just get black but I think I may want something a little less common. I was leaning towards maybe ceil blue or rasberry but I'm pretty open to any suggestions. Oh and our scrubs are navy blue :)

Ah thanks for that Silverdragon.

Don't they have house officers over the big pond? ;)

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

LOL, not in the way we have in the UK.

Saying that I will soon be learning the Canadian way so think I will have to invest in a good stethoscope :)

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

My school's scrubs are navy blue and my first stethoscope was a Classic II S.E. that I got in ocean blue (a light blue) - looks great with my scrubs! I also bought another one - a Cardiology III in plum :D

Specializes in Critical Care, Surgical ICU.

I have a purple Littman Master Cardiology.

Mines grape purple one, matches my glasses...

I wanted either a navy blue or black stethoscope, wanted to look professional. I know people who bought their stethoscope over $200 in pink, some in purple and weired colors.

Thanks! I just bought my stethoscope the other day in Ocean Blue :)

I got the purple one. Thats my favorite color.

Specializes in ICU, Telemetry, Med-Surg.

I have three, a Litttmann Cardiology III in hunter green and my master cardiology and classic II are both navy blue.

Specializes in Emergency, Critical Care (CEN, CCRN).

My school scope was a Littmann Master Classic in black (it's still my backup/"beater" scope), and my work scope is a Cardiology III in navy blue. Boring but professional.

The SICU where I precepted in nursing school forbade staff from using their own stethoscopes, for purposes of infection control. Instead, each room was provided with a scope, for use in that room only. You guessed it: the unit scopes were Classic II SE in orange, with the room numbers engraved on the ID tags. Guaranteed nobody would walk off with one! :D

Specializes in Intensive Care.

I just purchased mine in Peach! I was tied between Ocean blue and Peach but I figured, might as well be unique since it seems like a lot of people in my program got some type of blue or teal :)

I got a Classic II SE in purple and I love the way it looks.
