I thought this would be an interesting topic of discussion.
What color are the uniforms that you all wear to clinical rotations? The scrubs at the school that I currently attend are maroon. We have the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on those chilly days.
When I was attending an LVN program back in 2004 and 2005, our uniforms consisted of a royal blue scrub top and white pants. We also had the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on cold days.
What's with the programs that require jackets? Are you all in places where it doesn't get cold enough to merit winter coats, or is this something that just happens in one area of the country regardless of climate?
I am in CO where winter coats are a must lol, we have jackets we can order for IN the facility. We can't wear unapproved coats inside the building, right now I am in LTC so I have no need for the long sleeve white shirt under or the approved long sleeve "coat" but if your in a clinical setting where it tends to get chilly it will probably be good to have I would imagine.
We have ceil blue tops with the logo sewn on and navy blue pants. I've had the same top for all 3 years but I've had to get 3 different sets of pants because they fade.
We can have a navy jacket but I just prefer to wear a navy tee under my scrub top. Shoes have to be all black or all white with matching socks, hair back, and no jewelry (except wedding rings).
But I'm starting my preceptorship this week and I think they will be a lot less strict since we are one on one with a nurse and not around our instructors. Plus I am doing night shifts.

Our program is the same, for our last six months we do a preceptorship and we get to where whatever scrubs we want!
As if graduating wasn't a big enough incentive
White everything, with a gold and black arm patch with 1 year student on it....Have to wear a white cami or t-shirt under the top...white underwear(no thongs), someone last semester actually got sent home because she was wearing a polka dotted thong..idiot..This year they aren't quite as anal about the shoes, before all white, even if there was a stripe of grey that was covered with white-out they weren't happy about it:eek: This year as long as the shoes are mostly white it is ok...the best part is that you can pick out your own scrubs...even if they are all white....The funniest part is actually walking down the halls and you can pick out the students a mile away ( the only problem is when we are standing around talking it is very noticable and the instructors chase you down to do more work)
I hate you all. We have to wear white on white on white. White leather shoes (no color) white pants, white top, white lab jacket and of course white undies because you can see through the ugly things. Not only that, but our tops have a big 'ole ZIPPER down the front instead of buttons. They're horendous. And unfortunately we CAN'T bleach them because everything has our navy and yellow school patch sewn to it. So we have have white uniforms that you can't get stains out of. Awesome. *sigh* I will say the guys' are even uglier than ours though. At least our zipper stops a little bit before the collar. The guys' goes all the way up to their collar so it practically strangles them. Man they're ugly.
*eta* here are the girl's uniforms (page 5)

I have to say that this picture makes them look 1000 times better than they actually are thanks to the model being a size -10.
I'm starting in January but it sounds like we have the EXACT same uniform, zipper and all! The only thing thats better about yours is that there is a woman's option. Ares are unisex, barfing over here. :-(
