What is your clinical makeup routine :)

Do you wear make up to clinicals? What all do you wear?

I wear concealer PRN, foundation, light blush, nude eyeshadow, mascara and clear lip gloss.

If I am feeling especially energetic I will use eyeliner, but that is rare.

As I am a poor nursing student, most of my makeup is cover girl, revalon, etc. The only thing I somewhat splurge on is shadow (I

I'm a bunch of years past clinicals, but I work in the real world as an RN, so....I'll add :)

I'm another mineral powder makeup person. Have found brands considerably less expensive than the Bare Minerals I used for years (try e.l.f. available at drugstore.com. Same stuff, keep your cash).

Lightly coated mascara because I look like a rabbit (blond lashes) without. Lightly mineral-makeup-ed skin, which cuts down the shine I naturally seem to have so easily without wearing a face powder. Also, for those of us blessed with large pores, it works magic. Wear it correctly and it won't look bad at any time of day.

Light blush, because I'm so fair it helps to look healthier than my patients :)

And lip balm or clear, NON GOOPY gloss.

The key here is a clean, fresh face, period. No nightclub looks, no date looks. If I could look fresh and "natural" without makeup, LOL, I would!

i have oily uneven skin so i wear a heavy coverage oil control foundation-covergirl clean oil control does the job for me. nuetragena or cover girl oil control powder on top. clinique blush for color, waterproof liquid eyeliner, waterproof mascara. no lip stuff generally but chapstick prn. non clinical days its the same but i add bronzer and eyeshadow. coverup prn as well

my big vanity is my hair though. my hair in its natural state is a disaster zone. frizzy, fluffy and somewhere between straight and wavy. not very nice to look at. so i iron my hair. for clinical it goes in a jaw clip so that is like 15 mins. when i wear it down all other days it takes me a little more, but less than 20.

there are days if i wake up late, i do my hair and then throw on less make up or use a pencil instead of liq, more powder less foundation etc.

I'm a nurse, no longer in clinical (ah, the relief :) ) but I do wear make up to work. It takes just a couple of minutes and makes me look better--foundation, a little blush, eyeliner and shadow. I wear tinted lip gloss, but end up just reapplying chapstick all night.

Not a blessed thing. I've never been a big make-up wearer, so clinical days or not, I'm a minimalist. I'm of the belief that less is more :) Then again, I'm not trying to impress anyone (my hubby is so used to seeing me without it, he says I look weird with it). At most, I wear cover up PRN and lip protectant.

I wish I could get away with doing that, but a lot of the time the rosacea makes it impossible. I did try going bare a couple of times, and both times I had to deal with repeated "Are you feeling all right? You/your face looks... (insert descriptor here)."

Mind you, the redness is getting better as the years pass. Maybe one day it'll get to point that I will be comfortable enough to go without anything.

I'd say that makes sense then. It's easier than not dealing with a daily explanation. I had a discussion with my clinical group about make-up, and one of them said she has her regimen down to less than 5 minutes. I also noticed that this student had signs of noticeably uneven skin tones (perhaps what Michael Jackson allegedly had). Her makeup was not flashy, it just evened her skin tone.

I don't wear flashy make-up on a day-to-day basis. So for clinicals, my make up routine is exactly the same as it would be on a normal day. Moisturizer, foundation (lightly applied), setting powder, blush, a little bit of eyeliner and neutral eyeshadow, mascara, and tinted lip balm. My routine only differs according to how tan/pale I am. My skin varies 5 whole shades between summer and winter. I use a lighter coverage foundation (or maybe even just a tinted moisturizer) when I'm tan because I'm less self-conscious about acne scarring, skin tone, etc.

I feel like I get more respect and feel more confident/professional if I get up 10 minutes earlier and put on some makeup than if I look like I got up 5 minutes before leaving for work.

I don't have clinical this semester. I only have lab. But when I would go to clinical, I'd wear pretty much the same as you. It's what I usually wear anyway. :D I love Sephora, too!

I always wear Bare Minerals foundation, blush and finishing powder. It all goes on very light and looks natural, and I don't usually need a touch up. I curl my eyelashes to look more awake and bright-eyed. Sometimes, I'll wear a very neutral eyeshadow, usually a shimmery champagne color or a light beige color. Again, the key is to keep it natural.

I feel that if I don't wear a little makeup, then I won't be putting my best face forward and geting in the right mindset to do clinicals (that mindset being fresh & alert). It's the same reason why I put some thought into my outfits when I go to class instead of wearing pajama bottoms or running shorts - it just puts me in the right mood to learn - it may be all mindgames, but it works for me!

Burts Bees lip balm and lotion if my face is dry. The last thing I want to deal with when

driving or biking to clinical is "holy crap, is my eyeshadow smudged?" I have bigger

issues of performing technical skills, keeping my uniform clean, and assessing

and communicating with my clients, to worry about that junk.

I know this post is old but... I use Urban Decay ultra waterproof mascara called Cannonball. This stuff will only come off with oil based make-up cleaner. It's serious business. Also, tarte has a tented primer that lasts 12 hours. It is also a moisturizer. That is the only thing I wear as far as coverage. Its really light as well and it is all natural. I have sensitive skin and it does not irritate me. I use a eyemake-up primer from Victoria Secrets and it works pretty well. Hope this help.

I absolutely wear makeup to clinical! I don't want to scare the patients, lol. I wear foundation, concealer and powder. I don't put anything on my eyes, though, not even mascara because I'm too afraid it will smudge. I will sometimes wear lip gloss, too. I make sure my makeup can stand up to putting on masks, if necessary.
