What classes are you taking? Fall 2016

Published

Just thought it might be nice to have people to chat with over the course of this semester!

I'm taking:

A&P I

Statistics

Speech

Nutrition

School starts for me tomorrow!

I started my LAST prerequisite class Tuesday, it's not actually a prerequisite really. "College Success for Healthcare", is a course we can take for additional points for our ADN application. I take my HESI October 28th :nailbiting:

2 weeks in and my first A&P exam next Thursday. Lab is great. We are starting tissues. So far so good. Lots of studying tho. But I love it. How's everyone else doing in A&P

So far so good. I'm absolutely loving AP lab. My first lecture exam is on the 20th and first lab exam in on the 14th. Lot of studying but I'm ready. I'm almost done with my Sociology class. It's self paced online. I knocked out all the quizzes, midterm and final. I just need to post and answer a few more discussions and I'll be done with that.

I'm really enjoying A&P, as well! It's all so interesting to me. Our first lab exam is on the 14th, too. It's a practical exam and I've never taken a test like that before.

What helped me was really paying attention during the previous labs.

I would buy small sticky notes, and write the muscle/bone markings on the sticky - then place that on the model and take photos. Take plenty of pictures of the models they use in the lab, after all that's what they will be testing you on during the practical (not the photos from the book).

Also a great app to use is Phonto, you can use a photo from library/or take one, then label accordingly.

I received mostly high A's 94/96/98 in my labs.

Update on my classes...

Nutrition online, so far I've posted a discussion, took a practice test for the Respondus Monitoring Systems.

Don't have any tests in that class until October, but we have a dietary analysis due this month.

In Microbiology we had our first lab, where we swabbed whatever surface we wanted, and will go back next week to see what growth happens.

I don't have a general biology course under my belt, so it's a bit new to me, but my instructor is really nice.

Taking stats online. So far, I have 100. I don't know what I am doing but I never done math higher than college prep math before...

I also was admitted to an advanced CNA course this morning.

Thanks! I have a Samsung Note, so it allows me to take photos and then write on the screen with a stylus. So that's what I've been doing, which I hope will come in handy.

Microbiology, Chemistry, Abnormal Psychology.... clearing out any extras i can before nursing school officially begins. It's a killer semester now... but I will be thanking God I did it later.

Check out the YouTube channel "Wendy Riggs". Wendy is a biology and Anatomy physiology assistant professor out of California. Her YouTube channel is basically like taking her lecture course but online in short doses. Everything is categorized following pretty much what your regular AP courses will be doing. The difference is, Wendy is thourogh and has a great sense of humor. She makes things extremely clear and honestly - she was the Ace in my pocket. Thanks to Wendy, I got through AP 1 and 2 with the scores of 95.3% and 98.7% respectively. I can't recommend Wendy videos any higher than I do. They're just amazing, and I think if you try them out you'll feel the same.

Thanks for the tip!

I second you on this. Best A& P Lecture Videos I have found so far on You Tube.
