School starts for me tomorrow!
Hello everyone.. I am taking
A&P 1
Math for Health Sciences
Eng 101.
So far everything is going well. Lots of studying for A&P but Im keeping up so far. Its only been 2 weeks tho lol. I have the coloring book but havent needed to use it yet. That Math is a killer tho.. ugh... Best of luck to everyone..
Anat & Phys I & Lab, Patho, Developmental Psych, and Human Nutri. I start Monday, August 29th, getting nervous. A new beginning, but very hopeful!Good luck to all!
If anyone has some stellar study tips, please pass them along! (haven't hit the books for 20+ years)
The best study tip I've ever gotten is just repetition. Read your notes, rewrite your notes, create flash cards, listen to your lecture again, read the vocabulary words, etc. Each time you create something new (a flash card, a new rewritten note), you're repeating the information.
Good luck!!

Kahn Academy has videos (YouTube) on math problems/concepts that were super helpful to me! If you're finding yourself unable to understand a new concept, that's where I'd head.
As an aside, they have videos for chemistry, math, physics, NCLEX, and pretty much everything else you could want. And it's all free. Khan Academy

Attend every lecture, take notes, read your notes. I learn best by hearing, writing, and reading the assigned text just once through. Another good habit is to study (work on homework, do extra problems out of your book, review notes/flash cards) every day (except one day per week for rest if you need it). Also eat well, stay hydrated, and get decent sleep. All those other actions won't serve you if your body isn't getting what it needs. Those are my habits and I get excellent grades!
I've finished my first week. Already got all the cavities and organ systems covered. Plus al the organs in each cavity. It's def intense but it's very interesting to learn. Monday we start tissues in the lab.
I just finished my first week, too! Is that for A&P? I'm not taking it this semester, but hope it isn't too too hard. At least it's interesting!
I think my favorite class I'm currently taking is psychology. I always thought psych was so interesting! I've only taken it as a senior in high school, so it's cool to finally be getting to elaborate on the subject further.
Fall 2016 - I am taking Algebra, Psychology online and Sociology online. I am working full-time so hoping this will be a good combination of classes.
Winter - I want to take an Elective
Spring 2017 I am taking Chemistry and I think I will take Psychology 201 for my second class.
First half of summer 2017 I plan to take General Biology which is a pre-req to A&P 1, taking it in the summer it will be four nights a week. Two nights of class and two nights of lab. I originally thought of taking the Biology with the Chemistry in the Spring but thought this may be too much and wouldn't have time to complete any homework during the four days of classes as I would have been going Monday through Thursday.
I just finished English 101 this Summer. I can't wait until the pre-reqs are complete, just taking it one semester at a time.

Holy cow. We've only covered structural organization, maintaining life, survival needs, homeostasis, feedback systems, microscopes and directional terms. We don't start cavities/organ systems until this coming week. We're doing cells/tissue in the lab though.
