What are the best BLACK PENS

I am new to this forum and nursing school. Just wanted to know what are the best pens to purchase. Please, I need as many responses as possible so I can try them all and decide.

THANKS :)

In the past, I have found the Pentel RSVP in retractable at Kroger.

I very highly recomend the Zebra F-301... perfect size, stainless steel, very fine point, no smuge, it's a hangy clicky which is absolutely essential, durable, lasts forever, professional looking, inexpensive. Someone recomended the F-402... also a very nice pen but i prefer the thinner grip of the F-301.

I keep a few, less valuable, spare pens on me too. I got that from being a waiter in restaurants for several years. This is just incase some wants to borrow your pen. When you have a zebra, everyone wants to borrow it. In my experience (waiter, etc.) pens are returned only about half of the time when borrowed (i.e. by costomers, other waiters, OTHER NURSES) and you're not going to want to give up your zebra.

You don't have to read anymore posts now because nobody will give you a better suggestion. I've never met anyone who could show me a better pen. And no, i don't have stock in zebra. I'm just someone who writes alot, in confined spaces and is forced to write legibly and therefore very much value a quality pen.

i love the uni-ball vision, micro.

i'm going to have to try out this zebra pen everyone is taking about!

I just bought some of these Saturday because I was getting my kids school supplies on tax-free weekend, and I love them! The ink is smooth and dries fast and the pens are very pretty, plus they are Rose Art so they are cheaper!;)

My BF's sister got me hooked on the SRX pen by Roseart. It has a nice grip, consistent ink, and pretty colors! :) What more could you want in a pen?

I actually love the really cheap Bic or store brand ball points, and won't use gel or uni-ball pens. Whatever you get though (for classes), make sure that it either has a grip, or but one of those packs of foam grips. Until I did, I was in pain from taking notes - we had class from 8:30-6:30 on Mondays last semester, and I wrote for the entire time.

That was me. Amazing pens. I have skinny and lanky fingers so I need more of a grip ;). I just told my husband I needed to get to the store before school starts up so I can get a lot more. The ones I had last semester have walked...though I did find one of them in my husband's hands.

I would say Zebra with the super fine point...301 if you like skinny barrels and 402 if you need a thicker barrel.

We should by stock in this company.

I use the Papermate FlexGrip Elite F. It's just your basic black clicky ball point pen, but it *claims* to have antibacterial protection. Obviously I take that with a grain of salt, but it makes me feel a little better when I'm using it in the hospital for clinicals.

I bought some cheap clicky pens for clinicals. I'll use my better pens in class, where they're less likely to get lost.

Okay, taking some of y'alls advice I went and bought a few different kinds of pens, some cheap and others moderate (never the type to buy more than a moderate price).

The cheap BIC gel pens... they write good and are easy on your hands, but they DONT LAST LONG!! And not just because they're gel. They're like super sensitive to to gravity. I mean, if you even look at them wrong, the ink won't come out. I've tried every type of resuscitation on these pens to make them work again.. but I always end up having to get another one out of the bag and that makes it totally pointless and a waste.

Then I got regular BIC pens (no gel ink) and they write every time, but as I said earlier, I press down WAY TOO HARD on my pens and these aren't very forgiving of that. Even with grips, I don't like these. Good clinical pens to pass out to nurses who forget to give them back.

Then I bought a value pack of Zebra Orbitz... a nice fat pen with a cushiony grip. It sometimes writes kind of scratchy instead of smooth, but for the price it came with about 6 of them and 3 refills. Not too bad, but not my absolute favorite.

Then, the Pilot G2 gel pen in bold.... I love these pens :) Write great, and they're not too expensive and neither is their ink. These are by far my favorite.

THEN, as far as a non-gel pen favorite... I lOVE Zebra Twilight. I would rather have gel, but these are funky cute pens that write all the time for me without giving me grief :)

Hey this is DARK I think I'm leaning towards the GEL or ZEBRA still up in the air. Soooooo many great suggestions I LOVE IT. Keep them comming I still have a week and a half before school thanks guys.:monkeydance:

I like the Dr. Grip pens.

You need to try the Zebra 301 or 302. Their super fine point is wonderful for charting, they are shorter then regular pens so they are great for the pocket. That's the Zebra to get!!!
