What Are you thankful for this Easter?

My memories of Easter are always of family and friends, huge meals, frilly dresses, springtime. Later as I grew older it always seemed a time of renewal and a time of promise.

In the past 5 years, we have had 5 deaths in my family. Mostly from cancer or lung disease. My sister is recovering from major surgery, and it was cancer, but thankfully they got it all. She won't have to have chemo or radiation.

Without getting overly religious, Easter and springtime is/are about the promise of rebirth, everlasting life and of hope.

I am thankful that for the first time in memory someone in my family was dx at stg I, instead of stg IV. Thank you, LORD, for my sister... I am thankful to have a good and loving husband, who takes care of me as much as I take care of him. I am thankful for my parents, my Mom for being the proud, stubborn, independent, hardworking woman...my Dad was the more compassionate, laidback, easygoing type. And I'm thankful his passionflower plants still grow in my backyard...it's makes me feel like he's looking down at me from Heaven.

What are you thankful for?

I am a empty nester so my children get up early now and do the cooking at their homes.

I'm grateful for being blessed with wonderful families whom I loved unconditionally for loving and supporting me despite my shortcomings. Thankful for being surrounded by friends who are very understanding, forgiving, and accepting for the mistakes I've made throughout the years. I'm appreciative of my ex-boyfriend who taught me the true meaning of love and life ( a priceless lesson). Finally, I'm most thankful that God have surrounded me with all these people to make my life easier and bearable in every waking moment.

I am thankful for so many things this year. I am not in the best of health, and haven't been in quite a few months. I am facing cardiac surgery - but there are so many people that are facing worse things than that.

I am so very thankful for my sweet husband - we have only been married for 5 years, but now I can't imagine being without him.

I am thankful for my precious furbabies, Bea, Sissie, and Bella, and for my son Christian. They are too sweet.

I'm thankful for finally getting into nursing school, for my good health, for my most supportive boyfriend, and for both of our families that love us so much.

I hope you all had a nice Easter and took time to remember it's true meaning.

He is risen! Happy Easter everyone!

I have been dealing with GBS for the last four months. Up untill the last 3 weeks I could not not feed myself, dress myself, shower myself, could not even walk by myself. I am thankful for having my husband and my mother to take care of me during this horrible time and I am thankful I am almost fully recovered. I am starting to drive now and should be back to work soon. I truly have alot to be thankful for.

Sisters - I applaud you for your strength and perserverance. I can still remember my first patient suffering with GBS. I didn't remember us even touching on it in school, so it was a real eye opener when the patient was admitted. That patient taught me so much - I still remember her like it was yesterday.

I am so glad for you that you are doing better. God bless you!
