Curious at what the average age is that people are in nursing school?
I am doing my pre reqs now and will be 28 when I start!
I was 23 years old and hadn't been to any type of school in over 3 years. Instead, I was working 12 hour shifts at a noisy factory during those 3 years.
I completed LVN school at age 24 and very recently completed my first semester of RN prerequisite classes. Even though I have reached the nontraditional age of 25, I feel like I can mentally do anything if I put my mind and heart fully toward it.
I'm glad I'm not the only oldster only the oldest lol. I have finished my pre reqs and starting Fundamentals for ADN in Jan. I am 55 and I would love to hear advice from other older students. I must admit I am a bit nervous about the age thing.Margaret
Hey Margaret,
Some of the people who did the best in my class were the mature students! I don't think any of them did poorly, actually...they were all very focused. We looked up to them, too.

"Nursing school has in fact been an experience that has taught me alot about myself as well as others. I would do it all over again in a heart beet in spite of the high level of difficulty involved. Patient care is very rewarding."
Thank you, that was an inspiring comment.
