WGU Prelicensure-Cedars Sinai-Oct, 2014

Nursing Students Western Governors

Updated:   Published

Anyone out there anxiously waiting with me for news of acceptance to the October 1st cohort for Cedars Sinai? The excitement and suspense is really tough for me! My "nursing file" was complete and ready to go on February 2nd, which feels like about 25 years ago. All my eggs are in the basket...I don't really have other options. I'm trying to pass the time by re-reading my anatomy and Microbiology textbooks. :wideyed: Also taking others' advice about relaxing and enjoying free time in case I do start school soon. I'd love to hear from anyone else waiting. Good luck to all who have applied!

Yay! Another one! We're up to 1/3!

Specializes in ER, case management.

Are you guys in the prelicensure for BSN program?? If so, how's that going for you guys. Considering appyling.

Starting bootcamp tomorrow, should be fun.

itsinyourheart: Yes, but we haven't started yet.

ProtectNnurse: Where are you going? Our cohort's bootcamp doesn't start until mid-october...

Cool! That means you can tell us ALL ABOUT IT. :D

protentNnurse how was bootcamp?

Cedars' cohort should we start a Facebook page?

Yes! Will you start it? I am not proficient at such things.

Thanks!

I probably won't be joining in the fb group - just in case I don't make it into clinicals.

I made a HORRIBLE first-impression on my mentor (botched the time of our appointment due to the scheduling site she uses not mentioning time zones and my brain COMPLETELY farting)...so, we'll see if I can redeem myself - since their opinion of us weighs heavily on our admittance to the clinical portion.

Geek! C'mon, have faith...you've been an LVN for YEARS and you already have an associate's degree, right? How could you not make it into clinicals? You're probably the top candidate! The time zone thing is an easy mistake and totally understandable, and one you won't make again. Probably happens all the time. But you don't have to join in on FB. We'll see you on the 11th! Woo hoo!

LOL. Yeah, that's another reason why I'm worried: Expectations may be higher. But I haven't been in nursing school for 14+ years. I could be doing it ALL WRONG at this point. I want to be just as deer-in-headlights as everyone else, regardless of my degrees. hahahahahah

I thought the timezone thing would be fairly common for her, but she seemed sincerely bothered by it. (I'm just spoiled because everyone else I've dealt with always schedules the appointments in my timezone, despite being in another one.) We'll see how my rescheduled appointment goes next week! She seemed really nice otherwise, so here's hoping it was just situational irritation. ;)

Anyone else plow through the orientation the first day and then get super antsy, wanting to start on the other stuff as well? (I read/watched everything I could get my hands on, ahhahahah)
