WGU Prelicensure-Cedars Sinai-Oct, 2014

Updated:   Published

Anyone out there anxiously waiting with me for news of acceptance to the October 1st cohort for Cedars Sinai? The excitement and suspense is really tough for me! My "nursing file" was complete and ready to go on February 2nd, which feels like about 25 years ago. All my eggs are in the WGU basket...I don't really have other options. I'm trying to pass the time by re-reading my anatomy and Microbiology textbooks. :wideyed: Also taking others' advice about relaxing and enjoying free time in case I do start school soon. I'd love to hear from anyone else waiting. Good luck to all who have applied!

Just wanted to wish you all the best in your program. I will be in the WGU RN to BSN program and I am awaiting my start date on August 1st. I understand quite well your explanation of excitement and suspense.

Thanks very much, mycall2nsg, that's very kind of you. Best of luck to you as well. I have read very positive things about WGU's RN to BSN program. Only three more weeks for you!

You are welcome!!...Yep in 3 weeks I'll be a student again after a 22yr break...LOL

SBE, I am patiently waiting as well! Like you, WGU is my only option as having a baby and working, it only seems to make sense that WGU fits the schedule very well. I have been trying to get back into my old hobbies to help the time pass and to get my mind off of the suspense as it is killing me as well! LOL! I wish you luck and I hope to make it in the cohort with you! Prayers sent!

Thanks, Ziglar! Wishing you good luck as well. You will be juggling more than many students, with a baby and work. I admire you. Positive thoughts for all of us!

SoonerBredExpat I too am patiently waiting. Well more like impatiently waiting. I did start going to the gym which has occupied some of my time, but sheesh can we have them announce who the "winners" are already. Anyhow just know your not alone!

That's the idea, lil! You'll be in great shape when October finally arrives.

My counselor quite firmly told me not to expect any news until the first week of September, and that there are a lot of applicants. I'm thinking some yoga and meditation would come in handy about now; I'll start tomorrow...

I just wish there were more prelicensure students online that we could eavesdrop on/live vicariously through. I'm starting to think there's some kind of gag order (wouldn't be surprising for Cedars) -- or they're all too buried with school to surf the web. Both ideas are a little disturbing!

Yeah my counselor told me the same. So I planned a Vegas trip for Labor Day so I wont even think about it until I get back. I look at it like i have two tries to get into the program. Either the Los Angeles or Orange County cohort. I live in Long Beach so either one is fine with me.

I am currently waiting to hear back as well! I barely submitted my application yesterday, haha

Hey guys!

Best of luck to you. I started taking pre-reqs in October 2013, got ready in February 2014 and have been waiting ever since. I didn't try for California only because there is such a higher standard and more competition for only 12 slots per cohort. I went the Texas route and struck out in May and June with Dallas and Houston. Only to be accepted the last week into the September Houston cohort.

It's less competitive out in Utah/Texas incase the LA one doesn't work out for you guys! Just letting you know.

Either way, best of luck!

So I got an email today stating I did not make the LA cohort. I emailed my admission rep and asked for my nursing file to be submitted for the Orange County cohort.
