WGU Pre-licensing BSN for 2015

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

Hey everyone,

I am looking at possible attending WGUs Prelicensing.

I have been between 2 schools but it is looking more positive with than the other school. I have to retake my A&P 2 due to the Lack of quality instructors. The Professor we had was absolutely horrible and many of us in the class need to retake it due to low grades. I will have to wait til Spring and take it at a community college instead of where I took the last one. I am wondering how many other are planning to attend in 2015.

Other than that I will have all I need to Apply. I am emailing my enrollment counselor and find out the upcoming dates that are out so far in 2015.

I am gearing more towards WGU and having a group to work together and keep eachother motivated would be great. Let me know.

Thanks

Shonda

protectNnurse2b what are some sites you suggest?

Can you copy and paste some resources for students to use.

How will you know what books to get unless you are in the program. I am hearing that they don't use textbooks but mostly online material.

These are scholarship books...

Oh Wow! They actually sell books of scholarships you can apply for. I did not know they did that. I thought that would be free.

Were you able to get some funding through them?

Good Morning,

For all the CNA programs in California here is the link. Just look at your county and research the program of your choice.

I would find one close and Google the school to check their schedule, how long their training is and pricing.

Good Luck!

Thank You for the info!

I know the library has scholarship books.

Also, do you call different healthcare related organizations to ask if they offer scholarships? I've heard that some nurse scrub companies give out small funding to aspiring nurses.

Try any and everything. You don't want to graduate with debt.

Thanks @protectNnurse2b. That's the goal I'm striving for to pay for my education as I go through each stage or hopefully find scholarships for financial assistance. Did you have your entire nurse education paid for from scholarships? Also, did you do mostly essay scholarships or national scholarships?

There is a website I have to find the link that is a forum where each time other people vote for you and if you posts a lot of topics, you can earn free money for school.

Here is what I found from a site online:

Some of the best scholarship resources may include the following:

Religious organizations

Private and public schools

Small businesses

Large corporations

Community groups

Generous individuals

Philanthropic foundations.

No. It is self paced for Straighterline.

Yes, they do. I completed it 2 years ago. ADN=RN, as long as you've passed the NCLEX.

You seem to be purporting yourself as an expert in all things WGU, as someone who hasn't even started the program yet. Gotta admit, it sticks in my craw a bit.

WOW Klone. I just saw this message. No where in my messages did I ever say I was an expert. Just don't want to see anyone mis-informed. Didn't mean to offend you on a public website trying to help others.

Now I can say I have some knowledge being that I have been working with my enrollment counselor for the past year getting ready for the BSN Program and have gotten alot of information from him when it comes to the school. Plus I look at the website and get information as well and offer to others who are looking. So NO I Never Said I was an Expert nor act like I am one. No one is an expert.
