Western University MSN-E 2015 Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I'm new to allnurses and haven't seen a thread on Western yet for 2015. Just wanted to start it to see who else is applying so we can all give each other moral support!

I saw that every year the application deadline is postponed? Do you think it will be happening this year as well?

accepted students please join the FB group. And welcome to western u family

Congrats Happy, Hello, and Smiles!

I, along with another person I met at Early Acceptance Day, got into the program as well so we started a Facebook group for the Cohort (XII).

The name of the Facebook group is: Western University of Health Sciences - MSN-E Cohort XII

sorry bruinns1990, didn't see you also created a FB page. Is it ok if we keep using the FB page I created, it will keep things easy for me for future communications and to invite Cohort XI to join the group. Please let me know

hey bro.nurse, the link your posted didn't work. what's the name of the Facebook group you created? is it for all MSN-E cohorts? if so, I can keep the other one too specifically for Cohort XII.

also, bro.nurse (and any other current/past students), what would you say the estimated budget (everything included -- tuition, rent, books, etc.) is for the three year MSN-E program? I know the first year is around 80K, and I'm assuming that the next two years will be significantly less since part of it is distance-learning. just trying to financially (and emotionally) prepare myself, lol.

Thank you so much Bruins1990!! Unfortunately, I don't FB but that might change down the road. Thank you for providing the link though! I look forward in meeting you and everyone else and sharing the next 2-3 years of nursing school!! Feeling super excited and ecstatic about the future!!! Dreams are definitely being realized right now :D!

YES! I know exactly what you mean. I'm so excited and absolutely cannot wait to be a nursing student (especially at Western) AND eventually an RN!

name of the group is " Western University Of Health Sciences MSNE Cohort XII "

the fb page i created is for cohort xi and cohort xii only. last year there were 2 fb pgs and it confused the students as some were on the one group and not the other. if u want to keep a separate fb for just cohort xii you can do so, but if you ask me, i wont advise for it.

I have not been contacted for interview yet and I am starting to get nervous! :nailbiting: I received the email stating "Your file is ready for evaluation by the department" on December 9th. Has anyone been invited for a February interview yet? If so, which date?

Right there with you lol! I Don't think all of the interview spots have been filled for the Feb dates, so I think we have hope

yes you are right. Not only the tuition fee will 40-45% less as compared to first year, but also you were will be working in a hospital making money. so for 2 and 3 year you will be money equivalent to a nurse with bachelors degree w/o paying tuition loans during that period.

Congrats to those who were accepted!!! I attended the Early Acceptance Opportunity Day on the 15th and got my acceptance email the other day. Good luck everyone! =)

This is probably a dumb question.. but what was "Early Acceptance Day"? For those invited, did you all turn in your applications early for early review, or were you highly qualified/competitive applicants that they wanted to interview first? I hadn't heard of it until I read this forum.

I think it's for people whose qualifications really stood out to the faculty. I went to the one on the 15th and we did not have formal interviews.

Weirdly enough though, I haven't heard back...
