Hi all,
I'm new to allnurses and haven't seen a thread on Western yet for 2015. Just wanted to start it to see who else is applying so we can all give each other moral support!
I saw that every year the application deadline is postponed? Do you think it will be happening this year as well?
Hi! I'm new to this thread and congrats to everyone who has been invited/accepted! :)
I received my invitation to attend the Early Acceptance Opportunity Day today and I'm stoked!! For those who have gone, do you guys have any tips/advice in terms of what to expect and how it will be like? I'm super excited to meet everyone there including all the current students!
I received an invitation to the "Early Acceptance Opportunity Day" today for Feb 12! I'm super excited, but also very nervous! I have no idea what to expect! Should I come prepared to be asking questions, or will I be the one is asked questions? Is it a formal presentation? Or a mix-n-mingle thing?

Hey Karen_hsu221 and bluefossil,
Congrats it is super exciting. I would say dress professionally, be yourself, prepare questions if you have any. You wont be asked questions individually. You will listen to a presentation and after have lunch with current students and a faculty member! Everyone is SOOOO friendly, so just make sure you are not quiet and shy. Really show them that you want to be a nurse and that it is your passion. Show them whats really inside that heart =)
Congratulations Bluefossil!
Its definitely a relaxed day and your right on the spot with mix-n-mingle, that's exactly what the hosted lunch is like! Come prepared with your questions, especially the ones that their website may not be too clear on. I would describe the appointment more of a detailed information session, and they did ask our input on certain nursing topics like aspects of the profession. In the morning the room was a little chilly so a nice sweater or business jacket would be a good idea. Like others have said be yourself, and make sure they get to "know you." Best of Luck to you and everyone else whose applied and interviewing!!
Congrats to all the early accpetance day people! It really is exciting! And like all the other people said, wear a suit, bring a pen and paper, take notes, always ask questions and answer questions. You will be given time during lunch to sit with a faculty member and a student, that is really your time to shine so ask questions, pick their brains, and show them who you really are!
Turn your phone off and put it away, you're going to want to show them you're interested. And say thank you to everyone! You guys will do great!
Good luck!!!
