I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences. Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.
Thank you!

Hi all -
I'm currently in Cohort 7/Class of 2014
For those of you who have not received confirmation yet, definitely try to call and get your interview date confirmed. I went through the same thing. I think we're coming up on the last week or 2 of interviews. You probably want to try and get a hold of Amber, Alana, or Mitzi.
As for money...the program is definitely very expensive like Sandy said. Personally, I completely relocated my life to be in this program & am paying rent, but I did not take out the full amount offered to me. My calculations: take out the full amount to cover tuition + $1,000 per month + $2,000 for books, lab fees, etc. My advice if you're moving down here? Find a roommate thru the WesternU website and live somewhere CHEAP. Also, don't worry if you're right next to campus since you'll be driving 30 mins on average to get to clinical sites. And the neighboring cities are pretty much all nicer than Pomona
The dreaded interview...ethically, I can't tell you what questions they asked. But my advice would be to study the school's website and develop some questions about the school or program. Probably wouldn't hurt to know a few things about the 2015 changes also since it will be affecting the next cohort.
There's 3 parts to your interview day: the interview itself, a writing sample, and a campus tour. And yes, interviews are conducted individually - 2 faculty and 1 student.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Allisonhillary for the words of advice! I called the coordinator this morning, she said there was a problem getting the email out to the gmail accounts.
I really liked their interview process. The interviewers and staff really make you feel comfortable. Meeting the simulation clinical instructor again was also a nice touch since during the original tour we were probably one of 60 or so. Today's interview had 7 people and there is one more day of interviews this Friday from what admission mentioned.
I hope I made the right impression and am able to join you this coming cohort.
Fingers are crossed.:)
Hey everyone i just received an acceptance via email so make sure to check it! For all of you in the program currently... how many days a week to you have to be on campus for lectures and what not? I am debating commuting from home ( i live in long beach ~50min away) or would it be better to just live near campus? ALso, how do you like the program so far? Any insight would be much appreciated!!

\congrats genzey when did you interview? and when did you get your email ?
Hi Allison,
Now that you have been in the program for a about a year, what do you think about the MSN-E program? I got into several schools and I am having a difficult time deciding where to go. Western is the closest one to my house, and they have the NP track that I'm interested in. Are the faculty members really as responsive and helpful as they present themselves to be? Do you feel that the labs and classes are organized and helpful for clinicals? Would you recommend this program? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm midway through the first semester of an out-of-state ABSN program (Loyola University Chicago) so there's a lot at stake. Any input will be greatly appreciated from you or anyone else.
