I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences.:D Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.

Thank you!

The writing part is nothing to be nervous about. It's really short and it's open ended. We were told that it is not used as part of the evaluation process but rather to assess your writing skills should you be accepted to the program so they know if you might need some support with your writing. Oh and it is done on a computer in MS word. Hope that helps. Good luck.

sandman, thx so much for the info. sounds like u aced the interview :) have some more questions for ya if u don't mind answering...were u in the morning or afternoon session? how many ppl were in your session? did it take the whole time (7:45am to 1p or 12:45 to 5pm)? is it ok to wear black pants & a button down, collar shirt? or was everyone in suits? hope it's the former cuz i don't wanna have to go shopping.

i don't know if it's weird that i still haven't got the email ab the interview day yet when my interview is suppose to be at the end of this wk. a bit worried & frustrated ab that cuz i need to finalize my travel plans & book my flight soon. not sure i can make it to SNA airport for the 6pm return flight if i have to be at Western till 5pm...??

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

I still haven't gotten an e-mail yet either, so you're not alone.

And I haven't even thought about what I'm wearing yet! One more thing to add to my morning to-do list before work :/

I would not advise trying to make to Santa Ana w/in an hour. Traffic is brutal. I though the Ontario airport was closer to Western, probably cheaper too as SNA is the main airport for Disneyland.

healthychick, I didn't feel like the dress code was a big deal but all of the guys were in suits. As for the women, I'm not sure what exactly is considered a suit but everyone was well dressed. Its just your call what you feel comfortable wearing but I honestly think you'll be fine with what you described. I was in the morning session and it lasted until about 12 noon for me although some people were still finishing their writing sample when I left. I imagine everyone was done by around 12:15. Id be happy to answer any other questions :) Good luck.

What kind of things did they ask both in the written and oral interview? I am vey nervous! I am interviewing this Thursday! Can someone tell me please?.

hello everyone!

im new to this website and joined just so i can share the experience with you as well. first off, congrats to everyone who received their interview!! my interview is set for jan 21 @ 1245. does anyone else have the same interview time slot? and do you know if its a group interview or individual?

I received the e-mail about my applications being reviewed back in December but have yet to hear about an internview :( I'm getting more nervous and discouraged as the days go by.

I will be interviewed that same day 21 @ 7:45am. Good luck on ur interview! Just wondering what they will be asking in the oral and written qestions. Very nervous!

Thank you og! i was wondering... did you prep for the interview portion? I was wondering how everyone was prepping for it?

Call the admissions department first. If that gets you no where (like it did me) call the nursing department. I spoke to someone named Mitzi and she got me an answer that day. It seems like most universities, they are swamped with applicants. Good luck. Did you apply for the entry program or are you already an RN?

I applied to the MSN-E program.

I will make a call right now, Thanks!
