I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences. Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.
Thank you!

Hi everybody!
I just got invited to interview yesterday for Fri. 1/22 or Sat. 1/23...but I live in Berkeley and am going out of town that weekend. Since I was on the spot I opted to take the 80+% chance that there would be another session on February 18th. After further thought I realized that interviewing in the earlier slot is more important than later (or possibly not at all). Could anyone give me any incite if interviewing later will have a significant influence on my acceptance?
Thanks in advance,
jlee10
Jlee10: I know that intuitively it seems like interviewing earlier would be better but I would imagine they wait till everyone has interviewed and then begin deciding who gets in. That seems like the fair way to do it, assuming interview dates werent given out based on a ranking system, in that case it could make a difference but I doubt it.
Youknowwho: I had my interview this week. They break you into 3 groups and there are 3 activities: a campus tour, a writing exercise, and the interview. Which group you are assigned to determines in what order you do the activities. The faculty and staff seem like they really know what they are doing and really try to make you feel relaxed. It was a good atmosphere. That being said its still stressful to be interviewed. Hope that helps some and good luck!
Thanks Sandman, that is helpful, guess I'll just wait til Tuesday to hear from Danielle Mendoza before I book a flight. Thanks also for interview info. Now I have another couples questions:
Since we're getting a tour of the campus, I guess women shouldn't wear high heels?
Also, does anyone know how/when/if you can choose which of the four areas you can specialize in?
Thanks and good luck to everyone!
Well as far as the heels, im a guy so don't listen to me.. but.. there were girls with heels and they did fine.. its about a 2-3 block length walk. As far as the specialty track you choose at the end of your 1st year. Everyone takes the same courses during this pre-license phase and then you choose your specialty which is distance learning. They said everyone has always gotten the specialty track they choose however if theoretically too many people chose the same track they might need to use a lottery system. But they said that has NEVER happened just a theoretical.
It's really not too bad. They go out of their way to make you feel relaxed. Just know why you're applying for the program and a little about the role of a nurse. The rest is just being yourself and answering the questions truthfully. There is no specific information or facts you need to know going in. They just want an insight into who you are not what you know. Good luck :)
