I didn't see a thread, so I started one.
I am planning on applying this fall for the Direct Entry MSN program. Anyone else?
Got an alternate e-mail as well just now. Wish they had told us rank. Glad I got into another program at least. Congrats to everyone out there on their acceptances and alternate statuses. Hopefully things will work out for everyone. Thank you all for your constant support through this very trying time.
I just got my alternate letter from DM at 11:35AM. More waiting... Do anyone know when the alternates will know if they get in or not?
The letter just says that they expect to accept alternates up to the first week in class. I was reading last years thread and read that no one really heard (at least no one on AN) before July. Someone in the FB group said that someone was accepted the first week of class last year.
That is just too late for me...I have a job, childcare, responsibilities....UGH

Yeah I couldn't believe that either. I need to start planning and figuring everything out financially. Not sure how anyone can just drop everything and start the first week.
Hey everyone I got an alternate spot as well... I was an alternate last year as well... Frustrating a bit? Lol I would like to celebrate but I know better as many of you have mentioned already its going to be a looooooong wait. I hated it last year and I am not looking forward to it again. Like I said in another post I am still waiting to be rejected from last year I never received a letter so I just assumed when classes started that I wasn't selected lol... Frustrating? I am extremely happy to say that I got into all of the ADN programs I applied top. Might seem like a step back for someone with a bachelors but I don't see it that way like BlueEyes said a while ago we will all become NP's one day we just have to start somewhere! (Breath)....but anyways cheers to all of us alternates and for the rest of you " no news is definitely good news" I think....

That is poor taste on the part of Western to not give you an update on your application from last year! And I don't view it as a step back at all, just a different route. I am pursuing some of those avenues as well.
Hang in there! I wish you the best!

The frustrating part is the fact that we aren't ranked! It makes it incredibly difficult in so many facets!!
And FYI - I asked DM if she would accept a scanned signed alternate spot acceptance, and she said yes and that it was actually easier! So if you want to print it out, sign it, scan it and send it back, that is ok! Saves a stamp and trip to a mailbox!
