Western Health Sciences - Direct Entry MSN - Fall 2013

I didn't see a thread, so I started one.

I am planning on applying this fall for the Direct Entry MSN program. Anyone else?

My last name starts with B, got mine at 10:44. Beesmama's last name starts with A (I think) and she got hers at 10:40.

Those who didn't get the email today are probably closer to the "accept" end of the spectrum.

I've finally come to peace with my rejection (ha!) so I couldn't help myself to see how you've all been doing! :)

Congrats to the alternates! (Ucefrain, ugh! I was really pulling for you this time around..But there's still hope!)

I hope you guys can learn from my experience as to not put all your eggs in one basket while hoping everyday for an acceptance in the coming months. Keep applying and moving forward. I was so torn whether it not to keep applying or taking more pre req classes the last year (time, money, you know the usual exhausting app process) that I was just banking on Western. Then naively thought I'd "totally get in because I was an alternate last year..." I did try to put together a better app but it just wasn't meant to be, I suppose. Ah, such is life! :)

Good luck to everyone! It's been a roller coaster but a good life lesson/experience for all of us! :)

Still waiting... my last name starts with a P. I went for a run to clear my head and have decided to keep myself as busy as possible. I know we're all Type A and letting things out of our control is difficult, but I've accepted that I've done my best and all I can control now is my reaction to whatever happens over the next few hours/days/weeks. For my own sanity I just can't keep myself at that level of anxiety constantly. No matter what happens next, I'm glad to have shared this experience with people who understand. If some of you are local to LA/OC, we should all meet up for a drink and commiserate.

Maybe this is my defense mechanism in denial of an alternate but I'm thinking they decided to send out alternates to everyone just so we can get some type of news.. then they'll narrow it down again after the last batch of interviews?

I hope your right!! I really don't want to be waiting for too long! :-(

My alternative acceptance came in at 10:22 and my last name starts with an A.

Hey BlueEyes thanks for your good thoughts I was genuinely sad when I heard your news.... Not fair but like you said it was a great lesson/ life experience. I too put all my eggs in this basket for the same reason but I am glad I applied to ADN programs this year because I am not planning on checking my email every second of the day for the next couple of months instead I will embrace this new path that has opened up for me. I am not sure if you decided to apply to ADN programs but either way I hope you have other options to purse in order to achieve our same goal. God bless you and good luck. I hope we have the chance to work together some day.

I do have to say though that it is a bit strange that every person on this forum that did not receive a rejection (with the exception of a couple so far) has been placed on the alternate list. You would think at least one of us would have made it in. Like ktonic said I don't know if this is just me in denial but I'm inclined to lean towards that theory.

I'm also waitlisted too. Got the email at 213. I have to agree with everyone here. I thought they said they weren't done sending out the acceptances and then to have this email is just heartbreaking in a way. And the waiting continues.

Does anyone know if we have to snail mail the alternates letter or can we email DM back and attach the signed document?

You can email the document as an attachment, I just printed, signed, and scanned mine.
