Just wondering if anyone is applying to the Fall 2010 RN program at WCC? Im curious to know what youve heard is the score you should obtain on the TEAS to gain entry into the program? At the Nursing seminar, we were told 85 or above and buy your scrubs but around campus Im hearing from students that they know of people who scored 90 and didnt get in.
WCC has 40 openings for ADN1 days and an additional 40 openings for ADN1 evenings. In addition, they have 8 slots saved for LPN's to join the class in January on both evenings and days. The PN class has 32 student openings for fall.
Do you have any idea when they're going to notify people?
I called Admissions yesterday and spoke to the Receptionist @ when I can expect to be notified and she said mid to end of May. When I asked why so late? Her answer was bc 700 people applied this year. I don't understand that bc #1 supposively that many applied last year as well and #2 its computerized-grades are instantaneous so It shouldn't matter if 2000 people took the test. How hard can it be to generate a list of the top scores.

Again, my opinion on this matter does not seem to be very popular, but I do think that they might be waiting for final grades or something like that. Picture this hypothetical scenario: the cut off grade for the evening program is 85. However, 45 people's scores on the TEAS fell at or above 85 and of those 45, 10 got the same exact score of 85. Who gets in? Of those 10 people who scored an 85, they can only pick 5. If they have the same exact TEAS score, they need to look at other factors in order to grant them admission into the program (grades, ethnicity, race etc). It just makes sense to ME, but what makes sense to me, might not make sense to others :)
That is my guess as to why they are waiting this long to send out acceptance notices: they might be looking at other factors as well...
That scenario is most definately a possibility and I'm sure they have a protocol for that so you're probably right. II do hope they are willing to disclose all TEAS scores as well as other determining grades to anyone who requests them-thats only fair and lf I don't get in, you better believe that Ill be requesting them..
Again, nothing in the mail. I wonder if that's a bad sign. I looked up the nursing classes last night and 1 person was signed up for the night program class and 2 were signed up for the day program class. Oh and by the way, there are 40 seats in each program. I know they're holding spots for LPNs. LMK if any of you have hear anything. This waiting is driving me crazy.

My friend told me on Saturday that she called Prof. *'s direct line and that his voicemail said something about students being notified the second week in May. So this week should be it. I am sure you'll hear from them by Friday. I have two finals this week, so that's where my head will be until I'm done.

Someone else posted that you get a call from admin office to set up an interview, and that if you get an interview then it means that you are accepted.
