Just wondering if anyone is applying to the Fall 2010 RN program at WCC? Im curious to know what youve heard is the score you should obtain on the TEAS to gain entry into the program? At the Nursing seminar, we were told 85 or above and buy your scrubs but around campus Im hearing from students that they know of people who scored 90 and didnt get in.
The blonde woman who was proctoring the exam announced it during the exam actually. She said there were 800 people and 120 spots. I clarified with another proctor about the 800 people and he said there are ALWAYS that many people who register every year and that 867 registered last year.
Hi, Who told you that there were only 56 spots for the day and evening program combined? I"m hearing conflicting stories about that too. Did you actually confirm that with admissions or Prof *******? I'm trying to get through to admissions but they're not answering the phone. Probably a bunch of freaked out pre-nursing students calling about all these rumors. I wish someone would set it straight once and for all.
Hi again, I just called admissions and the receptionist said that there are 30 spots in each RN program. I don't know about the LPN program because I didn't ask. The woman said that she's been working in admissions for 25 years and that there has always been 30 spots for each program. Maybe she doesn't know what she's talking about either. I might set up a meeting with *** *******.

The gentleman who was proctoring my exam said that they were not allowed to discuss anything about the nursing program because they did not have all the facts and for us to direct all inquiries to the admissions office. He says all they do is administer the test and proctors should not be giving extra info.

When I went to the nursing seminar last fall, **** ****** said that they only accepted 30 students in the evening and 30 in the daytime, but that they had freed up 2 spots in each program for LPNs that were going on to the ADN program. Other people in my A&P II class heard the same info in their sessions. However, I have NOT confirmed that number with Prof. *******. If you do hear from the admissions folk, please let us know because I do want to get a clearer picture of what is REALLY going on here. Thx

You posted this before I finished my other post! Her numbers match the numbers **** ***** offered during the info session. Maybe they've expanded the program and will be accepting more candidates? Who knows... any way, keep us posted on what you find out!
Now I remember differently from the Nursing Seminar. I recall **** ***** saying 40 spots, which would make sense with what the proctor said about there being 120 spots (40 for each program?)
Hopefully you are correct and there are 120 spots. I think the only person who can clear this out is definitely Prof. ******* because **** ***** is no longer there and the lady at the reception might not know what she's talking about Maybe Jake22 will be able to get ahold of him.

"the short version of my previous post." the TEAS score and the percentile are separate. I doubt anyone got a 96 on the TEAS, and if they did they would be the number 1 student accepted to the program. Scoring a 90 on the TEAS puts you in the 98th percentile. the score is way lower than the percentile. WCC Nursing only considers the TEAS score and doesn't look at your GPA. The only exception to this is that you need a minimum C+ in pre-requisites and co-requisites. Good luck all! The fact that you are researching here means you are serious about this.
Hi wccnursingperson, I was wondering if you could shed some light about the RN program. How many people are in your program? When I went to the seminar last fall, the person conducting the seminar said there were 40 spots for each program (day and evening). When I called admissions, the receptionist said there were only 30 spots in each program. Thanks for your help.
When do they send out acceptance letters? I heard May 1st and then the receptionist said it could be after that? I get the feeling she is really not the person to be asking these questions to.
Could be, considering that May 1st is a Saturday and the last date to take the TEAS is tomorrow. They would probably need a couple of weeks to select the students, pull their transcripts, generate the letters etc. I would think the week of the 3rd makes sense though. At this point, I have taken a very large chill pill and have decided to let the chips fall where they may :) Again, good luck to all and I'm sure we'll reconvene here once letters go out in May.

Thx :) It has special meaning to me...LOL!! Since you are looking for 2011 entry, you'll have plenty of time to prepare.
That's exactly what I was talking about on my previous post. The proctor is saying something that he is not 100% sure of. Was it the guy with the mustache and light brown hair? Technically, he should not be giving any information other than that pertaining directly to taking the examination. The admissions office is the one that knows how many spots are available, how many people applied to what programs, etc. The fact that there is so much conflicting information out there is what sends people into a panic because no one really knows what is going on. The admissions office says there are only 56 spots open for the ADN program (evening and daytime combined).
