Just wondering if anyone is applying to the Fall 2010 RN program at WCC? Im curious to know what youve heard is the score you should obtain on the TEAS to gain entry into the program? At the Nursing seminar, we were told 85 or above and buy your scrubs but around campus Im hearing from students that they know of people who scored 90 and didnt get in.
platanazo3,pull their transcripts?? for what reason?
If I am not mistaken, each program has pre-reqs that must be completed by the end of summer term. I would think that they'd want to know that everyone accepted in the program has completed the pre-reqs with satisfactory grades. Many students who took the TEAS this term are currently finishing up their pre-reqs. Wouldn't it make sense to check?
I don't think they would look at transcripts to determine admissions. The transcripts would be to see what pre reqs have been completed or need to be completed/ passed so that when they generate the letter or have the person come for the interview, they already know what classes have been completed and/or what needs to be done. Have I made my point clear enough?
I couldn't sign-up for the TEAS until they saw my high school transcripts and they were sure I took all the prereqs that are needed for the night program.
Not everyone applied for the night program. Day time program applicants have until the end of summer to complete pre-reqs.
For me it makes sense they would verify that everyone currently taking pre-reqs is completing them with satisfactory grades and those who have not finished or plan to finish during the summer, are able to register for the right classes. I don't know if WCC actually does that, but it would make sense if they did. Wouldn't want someone failing a class to get accepted and then not be able to register to retake it in the summer. And before any of you says something like, " A person who is failing would probably not do well on the TEAS," lets just say that I know someone who barely got a C on pre-reqs and still managed to pull an 85 on the TEAS.
I feel like I'm talking in circles. So forget I said anything about transcripts.
Good luck to all :)
WCC has 40 openings for ADN1 days and an additional 40 openings for ADN1 evenings. In addition, they have 8 slots saved for LPN's to join the class in January on both evenings and days. The PN class has 32 student openings for fall.
Thank you for clearing this all up. I went to a seminar in the Fall of 2008 and I remember hearing something else. I'm very glad that they are accepting 40 and not 30 students per program .
Imagine my surprise when I received a big yellow envelope from WCC last week. Needless, to say, my heart started racing!!! Not until I looked closely at the label did I realize the envelope came from the library inter-library loan system :lol2:
So if I don't get a letter in the next few days, at least I know how it would have felt if I did
No letter yet for me.
Good luck.
