I'll be graduating from LVN school in November and want to go on to an LVN-RN program. I haven't done any RN pre-requisites and, at age 50, don't want to take the time to do so... so I'm looking for a program with "built in" pre-reqs. I'm curious about West Coast University but can't find much info about it. Please tell me what you know about it... thanks!
they should be there during ur spring break, but when i requested info from the la campus they take foreverrrrrrr to call u back so what i did was just went into the office b/c i was 2 impatient. i can give u one of the numbers from a rep from oc campus b/c originally i was sapposed to go there but then i will now be going 2 la campus cuz its so close 2 me, can i send u a private message to ur inbox if there is one on this site? im not sure if i can on this site but i dont want to put the representitive's office number in the public....
it is not true that magnet hospitals do not accept west coast students. In fact my 2 classmates are there right doing the versant program at childrens. and 3 are in Cedars sinai. Instructors are good this depends also on the rapport of student- instructor.Iheartnursing, IPASSSEDDDDDD, i WILL BE WORKING in NICU, los angeles...thanks for all your encouragements..
YAY!!!!!:anpom::hpygrp::anpom::ancong!::urck:
KITHZEEZ! im sooo happy for you! I can call you KITHZEEZ, RN!!! wohhoooo! all your hard work and dedication has made you where you are now!!!!!
about the previous comment, about not accepting MAGNET hospitals of WCU grad. I work in one of those magnets hospitals and there's about 6 of us from WCU and we all got hired at the same time. it wasnt hard to find a job. It was just hard to find a new grad program when I graduated from WCU, plus you can always find a hospital that does versant program prior to graduating. Goodluck!
Maybe you should transfer to the la campus, is it closer to you? its worth going to the campus that is closer to you, but so far i have not had that problem, though i still need to figure out what classes are transferable for me as well, i got an appointment for the financial aid soon. have you met up with the financial aid person yet?
sorry for the late reply, but you must've have gone to the Financial aid part already. Did you get all the info you needed? and..Yes, I'm all set to go to the OC campus instead of LA...i figure it's cheaper to live there. I'm relocating from NorCal...so either location is far enough to not matter. But yea, I still don't know what classes that will transfer and I still don't know who/where I'm going to live!! Lol.
Yea, I'm from the Bay area. I don't think there's a roommate finder for this particular school...I talked to Linda (the OC adviser) and she practically said that she can set me up with people that are also looking for housing. So, that's something to think about.
I just spoke with an admin who evaluates transcripts and I have 24 units that will transfer (sweeet). I have to test out of 2 classes though, math & psych. They said my Psych1 class is 5 years old, even though I took it in fall of 2003. I took Calculus, but it doesn't count. And stats would only transfer once I get credit for that alegbra class. Oh well, I'm pretty happy about that...I don't have to pay the full 116,000! whew!
I'm really glad you two have decided to go to WCU, I am starting June 22 at the OC campus, and so far I have had an amazing experience there! I was concerned about their accreditation like many others, but I figured the only way I would know for sure if masters programs would accept WCU was to ask them myself. The first program I called, which was Cal state Fullerton, told me that they do except WCU's BSN and that made me confident enough to take out the loans and commit to the school. I am so excited about starting! Is anyone else starting June 22?

Hello kithzeez!
Thank you for your valuable input! I wanted to ask you what were the average age groups in your class?
