Hey guys!
i just got accepted into West Coast University in Orange County. I'm super anxious/excited about starting the program and I was even more in shock to find out that with all the classes I'm transferring I'll only end up with about $40,000 in loans for my BSN degree. I'm really impressed with their NCLEX pass rates (93%) and I'm also glad they are WASC, CCNE, and CBN accredited.
Im going to be moving from Northern California (Sacramento) for this program and I was wondering if there's anyone (female) that would need a roommate? I don't want to live on my own because the cost of living can be super pricey in Orange County and I won't be working.
Another question I have is how good are the professors? I have a 3.8 overall GPA with A's in most of my sciences but I've alwayd had to study hard. I expect nursing to be the hardest thing I'll ever had to study but I think it all begins with a great professor..
any words of advice from WCU graduates or current students?

Thank you for responding!! I guess I'm just confused because I was told all classes will be fully online due to Covid 19, but on Blackboard some of the classes are still listed as "Blended", for example, Chemistry 280. It specifically says it requires face to face for lab. I also heard you have to go into class to take quizzes and tests.. But then I was told by the Director of Admission that everything will be 100% online... so frustrated for lack of information this school provides. Advisors are not responding either...
No problem! I am glad to help. I know their communication is well... not so great. Before all of this COVID 19 we did go in for classes. If it was a science class that required lab and lecture, you would go in two days a week for those. And the online part would be your assignments that you are required to complete for homework. And all quizzes would always be conducted in person in a proctored format. However, now since that is not possible they are doing a virtual lecture through blackboard collaborative and we are having tests online. Even those of us in nursing core are doing clinicals online. It's been a challenge but we are forced to adjust. Safety is the main priority right now. Hopefully everything wil go back to normal sooner than later.

All of my on-ground Chemistry and physics courses have been converted to online. We have to protect our students, faculty, staff, and the greater community. I have had discussions with various administrators/admissions personnel and they have been understanding of the current situation with on-ground and hybrid (blended) classes.
@gmamani0 almost 90% of the nurses I WORK with CURRENTLY at Kaiser and Uci graduate from west coast. At the end of the day your licences say RN not the school you went to. I think west coast is a good school. I'm going through the process now for enrollment. Yes, the school cost money, but what dont? I'm sure most of yo on these page have paid over $30,000 for a car why not pay for your education. Either way it goes life cost and I think we all should do what's best for ourselves!

I'm from orange county but at the end of the day, it's cheaper to go to school where I'm at with scholarships and everything for my second baccalaureate. Personally, it's a matter of preference and saving costs. I know I'm paying less for the same degree.

This makes me feel way more better about my decision to attend WCU. I'm starting on August 24th at OC!

Hey Guys I'm in a tough situation!
So I already have my bachelors degree and I just applied for August cohort, but I don't for financial aid, only private loans. However I got rejected from 2 private loans and I sent them to my financial aid advisor to see if they can offer that scholarship. Has anyone had a situation where they were rejected from private loans, but the scholarship WCU wasn't enough to cover the costs? If that's the case I need to figure out how to get 35K out of my pocket.. for just take my time and apply to ADN programs in a year LOL
