What hospital did you get hires at???

I am 58 and thinking that I would be a good fit for me might Hospice and less of an urgent care roll. Maybe some type of computer/RN combination. I always felt for like the young guns would be the hospital world more than someone at my age. I have a long time background in IT, Nursing is a midlife career change for me. We shall see what the play is when it comes.

Congrats on ur job. I think I will be good in a psych setting as well as icu. Gotta get thru nursing school 1st n foremost

Young guns... Ur funny :) i really want to do nicu or peds. I love babies and children. yup. Ill leave it for my bros to work the chaotic bloody trauma floors while i stay here and take care of the infants or kids haha who knows i havent even started ns yet so maybe ill find my niche. I do like babies and children. And i think those areas need more caring strong male figures to represent them. Ooh rah!

Specializes in Nursing Education, CVICU, Float Pool.

Working in the CVICU of a smaller hospital in rural SE NC. Orientation starts July 15th for all of us new grads!!!

Nursing Informatics with all the changing of medical record by 2015 would be the best fit for you so check it out. Good luck

Specializes in Med Surg, PCU, Travel.

wow trauma internship right after graduating is not bad at all. I still have one year left in my program. I hope to get into ER...but eventually I thinking of working in OR where patients can't talk back:roflmao:

I'm early into my program so I'm not sure. A family friend thinks his wife can get me a job at some unionized place with a decent salary + benefits. Not holding my breathe but it would be nice if that works out. :lol2:

If not I'll just spam all these places with applications and hope for a job. I think I'd prefer working in a nursing home, but I'll come to a decision once I start clinicals.
