What in the ACTUAL H#$%?

Problem is, there are some families on my unit right now who would TOTALLY go for something like this. If they ever got wind of this app, I would seriously consider quitting my job on the spot.

Many people make this grammatical error.

I hold spelling in a professional setting (such as product descriptions) to a much higher standard. If it were you, I'd pass it by. This is supposed to be a professional representation of this product and it is a total pet peeve.

(Admittedly, I'm a tiny bit neurotic.

Ohhhhhhhhhh! Totally playing the HIPAA card. Thanks for the inspiration. ?

I was thinking more along the lines that the hospital could just block the numbers the call center uses, on the basis that the patient would get a faster response from a call light rather than screwing around with a call center. The HIPAA thing could also shut this down. Would they have to sign some release saying its OK to release data to the call center?

My badge would be on my manager's desk so fast their head would spin.

Trust me, it would not be me. Not for that particular error, anyway. ;)

Yeah because the constant ringing of the phones which nurses carry on the floor, isn't enough!! Geez! Wait staff is treated better than this!

It would be cute if it wasn't such an incredibly stupid idea.

I can honestly see the unit secretary (at my facility, anyway) eventually wising up and just saying, "tell grandma to push her call bell if she needs a nurse." Although some of our newer secretaries might very well just patch the call through. I have no problem telling family that grandma is doing just fine, and that meanwhile the person I just pushed epi in needs me more.

LOL, right? I would just be like, "I'm sorry, is there something wrong with your call bell? No? Can you push it from now on, please?" :sarcastic:

The app is free, so I don't think activating it gets a person to call the hospital, it's probably a robo call.

Wouldn't it be faster to press the call bell then to call someone who then has to call the hospital to call the nurse??? Really?! Seriously?!

My response was, "What the fresh hell is this?" and to check the Apple app store. Not there. Sounds like a hoax to me.

Yyyyyyyup. The only thing that bothers me is that the developers may wise up to that and then start charging money for a better app with hairy guys in their underwear in mom's basement acting as a "call center" to bother a nurse to go check on Nana. It's okay. It'll backfire when the dementia patients start pushing it over and over at 2 am.
