is hogan the prentice hall book? i think that's what ive read but yeah i used that book for medications because i thought it broke them done nice and simply! how do you like hurst? i decided to redo my kaplan jut because i thought the nclex was similar to kaplan but also like ncsbn questions! i find it easy&challenging at the same time!

yes that the book! I love hurst it go over core content! And i reinforce it with hogan and I notice my questons scores are going up :wink2:. I didn't want to do kaplan again cause i did all the questions and looked at the rationals for them all. But i do have access to kaplan if i want to the questions.. How is ur studying comomg along?

Hello everyone, I failed the RN NCLEX for the first time on August 13th. It really hit me hard. I passed my LPN NCLEX the first time around and I used the same study plan. I now know that I should have did more questions and studied more content. I probably won't retest until Oct. or Nov. and I will make sure that I am really ready the next time. The fee to retest just doesn't grow on trees. I wish they would give some kind of discount for having to retest like the review courses provide. I can also testify that the trick does work. I tried to register as soon as 2 hrs after my test and it allowed me to go to the credit card page. I know that we all will pass. We just have to keep praying and stay positive.:flwrhrts:

Yeah i tried the trick as well it does work:scrying:.. But don't get yourself down u know where you feel short at so now its time to get back at it :typing review content and answer questions you will pass the next time :wink2: Jus remember you are not a LPN u are a new nurse with only two weeks of training:up:

Yeah see first time around I didn't really emphasize on rationales (don't ask me why cause i have no idea haha) and i took all the questions 2 months ago so they seem for the most part new to me. but also supplementing with some saunders and ncsbn. my studying is coming--some days are better than others. and as my test gets closer (a week and a half) i start feeling a little more anxious/nervous. i know ive done a lot to prepare myself and am feeling more confident but it's scary thinking about taking it again. i dont want to think of what would happen if i fail but it's so hard not to after failing the first time. ive been keeping a positive attitude for the most part and really think i can do it if i take my time and read. but ahh. i completed the lacharity book and wow i thought that was really helpful. so my gameplan for the week is QT7 tom. NCSBN posttest tues/wed. 100-150 questions the rest of the days. read my notes everyday and review chapters of lacharity. and then the day before the test im planning on just reviewing my notes and calling it good and taking a break. ah.

hows your studying?

I also got 265 questions my first time! This study go round I am reading content and supplementing it with Hurst! I am doing atleast 100 questions a day! I believe if we know the content we can pass the exam! I am going to start my kaplan questions again soon! I am still waiting on my ATT but i need to take the exam before the 3rd week of sept!

Just got my ATT-- YIKES!! Time to really kick my butt into gear for the last few weeks of studying. Don't have a date picked yet, but the NCLEX (round 2) just became so much more real.

yikesyikesyikes!!

I'm not going to make the same mistake as last time though-- I am NOT going to schedule this test until I am ready!

was it in your email this morning?

So I took this weekend off from studying wasn't feeling well at all and when Im sick I dont absorb information anyway. As of tomorrow Im exactly 1 month away from my retest date. Its off to the library tonight after work to kick everything back into gear. Definately anxious trying to calm the nerves and really not happy about an 8am test time again but I will deal. Praying for all of us here! Heres hoping for a better outcome in a month :)

I can now officially join this group of September test takers!!! I will be testing on the 1st. I needed to test as soon as I could. I am both excited and nervous. But I know that we all can do it!!!! I will keep everyone in my prayers and ask that you all do the same for me.:redpinkhe

my test date is coming up so fast! ah! i have parts of me that i am getting nervous/anxious and parts of me telling myself to calm down i can do it! recently it seems like i have good study day followed by a few frustrating days. today though i scored 64% on QT7 and am excited but also am frustrated that i am not at 65% haha. i know i can do this. positive thoughts!!

your score is high than mine , me i got only 56% both Q6 and 7

are you just focusing now on answering questions?

coz i'm still finishing my contents. :typing

with some questions on the side per day.

aleena23 are you going through and really reading and understanding the rationales?? i wouldn't get upset over your score (i know easier said than done) but you gotta focus on knowing your content and understanding the reason why a question is right or wrong. the first time i took kaplan i got so concerned about my scores and didnt thoroughly read through the rationales except for ones i got wrong and i went into the nclex doubting myself because i had let my kaplan scores get to me. so understand right from wrong...work on your content and questions until your test and go in with your head held high and remind yourself you will pass!
