  1. YAYAYAY what a great month for RNs!!!!!!!!! Let's keep it up!!!!
  2. YAYAYAY JHOWANNA! Congratulations!!!!!
  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What a GREAT feeling!! I am also a repeat tester and finally passed yesterday! Proof that you can do it, even if you fail, as long as you don't give up!! :clpty: And happy birthday!! Make sure to go out and double celebrate this weekend!
  4. givingup2009: First of all, DON'T GIVE UP!!! I did not pass the first time I took the NCLEX (and I mean, I rreaalllyy didn't pass-- failed in 75 questions) and was so down on myself that I couldn't imagine myself ever passing. But I kept working because I know that being a nurse is what I'm meant to do-- and today I took the test (75 questions) and got the pop up this afternoon! Granted, I cried the whole way home and was sure I failed but, if I can do it, you can do it too!!! So anyhow, the test today was mainly prioritization and patient teaching. I had a handful of questions that were medication based, a few SATAs that were meds & patient teaching, and one that I had to put in the right order. The topics that came up most for me were infection control and recognizing what's normal/abnormal! And also, I found that the Kaplan strategies really didn't apply to the majority of my questions. I think ExamCram & Kaplan questions really prepared me well, and I was able to narrow all of my questions down to two options and critically think about the answer. It took me about 2 hours to do the 75 questions-- I wrote out all of my lab values before I startred, said a prayer, and really took my time. And I made sure to take a break! Hope that helps!
  5. ujones: Congratuatlions on being done!!!! :1luvu:
  6. oh and also about the test today for future RNs-- I got mostly prioritization questions (infection control & recognizing normal/abnormal) with a handful of diet and just a few medication quesions. ok time to go pick out some scrubs for this new RN!!!
  7. :hpygrp::hpygrp: YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAY I am finally FINALLY an RN!!!!!!! It said "delivery successful" and I GOT THE POP UP!!!!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH to the wonderful people of this September support group-- I really didn't tell anyone but my parents that I had to take it again, and I am so glad that I had a place to come, vent, and talk to people going through the same thing as me. It really means so much to me. Lots of love, Sarah RN, BSN
  8. ugh, back, feeling sick to my stomach. i literally don't know what to do with myself until it says "delilvery successful" on pearson vue. i'm considering going to the beach just so that i physically cannot access a computer. it turned off very early, i immediately started tearing up and i cried the whole way home. i really do not have a good feeling about this. i will post later with some tidbits about my exam for people testing tomorrow/soon... but right now i am too jumpy to even sit here and type. akfjkadfklhafklahdslkhjas
  9. congrats aleena!! i'm almost done with qt7, and it's really frustrating me!! some of these questions seem so bizarre.. i've never even heard of a "dry birth" before! and there's a question about cholesterol maintenance.. the client's total cholesterol level was 200, which kaplan said necessitated diet management. i thought total cholesterol level was 200 and under. apparently it's 199??? ugh, hoping the nclex doesn't choose to use "unexpected" values that are so close to the actual target. ok venting done-- back to questions and my med chart. 10. happy LAST DAY OF STUDYING to my fellow tuesday test takers!!!! meds, labs, and questions.. oh my!
  11. Nope-- this is my first time using Kaplan! Last time, I thought-- I don't need Kaplan, I'll just study for myself. Well, that didn't work out so well. HAHA But you're right about memorizing answers--- I borrowed my roommates Exam Cram questions and felt like I was getting to be an NCLEX all-star, but really I could just look at the question and pick out the answer without even reading anything!! Too bad that's not how it really goes on exam day!
  12. I am soooooooo ready for that day. hahah
  13. jhowanna and ujones--- your scores are GREAT!! And, they better be good enough because that's around what I'm getting and I intend to PASS! I am about to do QTrainer 6, but my scores for those so far are: QT1: 68% QT2: 79% (I did this one right after QT1.. I think I was on a roll haha) QT3: 65% QT4: 61% QT5: 69% Instead of being so nervous and crazy this time around, I am really starting to feel excited so we can be d-o-n-e DONE!
  14. Keep practicing until the exam... but DON'T stress!! Sounds like you are doing AWESOME.. those are all of the goals that you should be meeting. I am using Exam Cram and really feeling like it has really helped me. I took the NCLEX once already (oops) so I can say for certain that Exam Cram questions and Kaplan are like the real deal if not a little harder. Keep chugging along, but no need to freak out. Just keep yourself in the question-answering mindset until test day. and GOOD LUCK!!!!
