I did not see any thread on AUGUST 2009 support group, so i decided to form a forum for us to share our view, plan and how to pass for the test first time. :welcome: and Join the excellent group!!

Took my NCLEX today as well and only had 75 questions. 10 of which were SATAs. Not one math. Infection control and prioritizing. The Pharmacology was a bunch of meds I have never seen or heard. I felt like I was guessing most of the time.

Most of my questions seemed to be in the areas that I am weakest in...pharmacology and peds. I figure when I pass, God wants to make sure He gets all the credit. LOL! To God be the Glory!!!

I'm testing this wensay and I'm a nervous wrack and trying to think which areas shuld I focus on the most in this short period left.

I have the NCLEX in 20 days and I am getting real panicky, I'm all over the place with the ATIs - from 63% to 95%, weakest in OB and PEDS. I got 68% on the Kaplan predictor on the CD, I haven't taken the Kaplan review. I don't know what book to use to review, I'm just taking tests and I have knowledge gaps in content. It's too late to read the textbooks from college, please recommend a good review book for content that I can deal with in 20 days or less. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

hey mstefano! Saunders is a good book even though its big you can you use it to close up the gaps on content. I am testing next friday I am using hurst review book its really good helps with things you need to know and also cut your study time in half, help you build on what you already know. I am in the same boat I am just studying my weak areas and going over some material but not much. I am doing questions in areas but not too much content. Just relax and work on weak areas and just test your ability. Saunders or hurst and even the kaplan book can help you at this pt and also exam cram which i heard is excellent. But you when just reinforce what you know just know. As far as peds and maternity know the basics like growth and development, labor and delivery, postpartum complications, antepartum stuff, and safety stuff for growth and development. Dont stress yourself the test is more med surg you just need a general knowledge of peds and maternity. Know infection control, priorization and delegation, and management. You will be fine! I am scoring high as well but I need to work on content. Wish you the best!

I know what u mean i'm taking mine today as well at 12:30 and i got up so early!!!!!!! Good luck to us both today and anyone else who is taking it today and in future!!!!
