Welcome to the Forum - General Aussie Chat

World Australia

Published

Having been guilty myself of hijacking threads saying hello and just chatting to my fellow Aussies I thought it might be worthwhile for us to have a thread that is just dedicated to general Aussie chat. We can then discuss issues like the Morris - oops Davis inquiry in Queensland and what it will mean for Q health and for the rest of Australia.

We can talk cricket, sport and anything else that is just us.

Say hello to new members dropping by.

Generally find out what is happening in the rest of the country.

I will make this thread a "sticky" so that it will always be at the top of the forum.

Hello, I'm planning a vacation in Aus. for next Feb. Have a few friends there. Can't wait! Was supposed to go there this past Feb. but my daughter was due for her first baby ( a boy, 8 lbs, 11 oz) so I have to wait.

Congratulations on your new grandchild. :balloons:

In advance :welcome: to Oz! I'm sure you will enjoy your time here. Safe travels!

Cheers..............

I am just starting the 12 hour shifts where I work in the UK - i know that some wards have dropped it allready tho!! Good luck to us

I am quite convinced that with the emergence of pseudo-nursing professions and their consolidation and retrieval of nursing responsibilities, in time to come, there may not be much left to do in the name of "nursing" making the profession essentially irrelevant. This is my piece.

Hi, now what gave away what uni i'm from  :lol2:

I am in my 3rd year, must remember to change that bit on the bottom of my post.....

I have been coming onto this forum for the last year or so, and have found it to be a fantastic font of knowledge, and also a reminder as to why i am slogging away at these books at my age :lol2: , it helps to bring it all into perspective. Anyway enjoy...

Oh and a word of warning....allnurses can be very addictive, especially when you are meant to be on the computer either researching or writing that assignment :nono:  but oh well this is more interesting than that acute care assignment anyway :uhoh3:
