A few of mine:
Checking the expiration date on EVERYTHING.
Evaluating everyone I meet for IV placement.
Laying out every utensil I need before cooking.
Watching every person I see with a cane to make sure they're using it correctly.

Hahaha! That's so funny about Angelina Jolie's veins! I was just thinking the same thing a couple weeks ago when I saw her in a magazine!

Telling my family about all the germs there are out there.
I hear ya on this one... ever since microbiology, i am much more concious (and paranoid!) of the germ population.:wink2:

Driving down the highway and reading medical acronyms in the license plates... oh look there's THR followed by a DVT! Ironic? Or perhaps I've been studying a wee bit too hard...
My dad had TAK 2 ASA on his plates for a long time but no one ever got it. Poor thing.

When it was warmer out I was ALWAYS looking at people's legs for signs of edema. I wash my hands even more constantly than I used to and never touch a faucet handle with my bare hands now. I talk about germs and medical stuff so much that people have pointed out that it's annoying. I make a point of telling friends who are sick to keep a 5ft distance from me and not touch any of my stuff. I find myself doing assessments in my head when I see or meet new people.

I like how we can talk nurse speak and no one else but us will know what we are talking about. I never noticed all the abbreviations and acronyms we used until my bf started NS and was like "what are you talking about"
PS NS in this case is nursing school--not normal saline :)
