sorry for the lateness! i had surgery friday & developed some complications over the weekend, but i am back to normal now.

my update: 170/170/125 (starting weight/current weight/goal weight)

my husband & i cleaned out our pantry tonight. we threw out all the junk food. i am so embarrassed about my weight. i can't fit into any of my jeans. the only pants i can wear are my scrubs and sweat pants. i absolutely refuse to buy any larger sizes.

how is everyone else doing? how was your weekend and your new year's day? i hope everyone else has had a more productive week than i did.

best wishes!

Weighed in yesterday, my stats are 252/236/140

Doing pretty good, but being home all day with it being so cold out, I sure could snack, but holding my own.

Try this site for further motivation. It is not an official WW site, but Dottie lost all her weight at WW and has many links, recipes, motivational ideas here. On the message board there are posts about the weekly WW meetings, too.

I don't post that often but I thought I'd give ya my 2 cents...:D

Another good website if your only going to meeting and don't want to pay extra to use WW online service to tally up points is http://www.journaltosuccess.com

I've been off and on ww since June 27th of 2001. Im finally getting back op to get the last 17 lbs off.

Take care!

My Stats

140/127/110

I'm with ya too!

Started back yesterday with points...

Here's my stats:

217/214/150

Before I lost control, I was 198, down from 245, so I know it can be done!!!! :)

I'm not attending meetings, but am counting points. This week I started a 'no drinking on weekdays' policy, which should help, since I throw away food points on wine all the time, and I can't have the distraction now that I'm starting NURSING SCHOOL TODAY! If I could get over this cement-head UR infection I'd get outside and do some running too.

About meetings- I've been to really good ones, and really bad ones. If comes down to the instructor. Try to find one that really clicks for you. About the money - trust me, it seems money well spent when the pounds start coming off! WW's WORKS if you follow the program. Make it a game to come up with ideas for how to eat more for less points.

I have some ideas for WW's thread themes for each week, like "favorite low point snack", "number one tip", etc.

I'm so happy this thread is going! Keep it up.

The Fast Track 2 week program gives you 2 choices, higher protein & higher carb. Each program contains some carbs & proteins, but it's just a matter of the percentages. Either one I could do & I am not into the low-carb plans at all.

The plans give you a list of foods/portions to choose from along with generic choices (something like choose one serving of dairy, fruit or vegetable that will equal 3 points).

Basically, you get a well-rounded 20 point day. No flex points (although my leader told us if we can't handle the 20 points that we could go ahead & add the flex points). You follow the plan for 2 weeks & it jump-starts your weight loss (especially good for when you're at a plateau).

I'm starting the fast track program tomorrow (have to go to the grocery tonight!) & hopefully won't have too much trouble on it. It doesn't seem that I would...it's a lot of food!

hope this finds you all having a great day!

I'm just sitting down to a nice dinner of chicken cacciatore with steamed rice. YUM!

My stats are 220/191/150...i've been following the program for about 3 months now.

Best of luck to all of us! We can do it!!

I was so excited to read about a WW post on this website!!

I LOVE WW!

I lost 30 lbs last year and have gained 5 back, so I've done pretty well, for me! I have cut back a lot the last week or so, but after I go the the grocery store this weekend it's back counting points for me! I hate seeing all this literature everywhere about the Atkin's diet, South Beach diet, etc. I did not eat a low amount of carbs and still lost 30 lbs in 3 months. All the Atkin's diet does is put your body in starvation mode, that's why you lose weight. I've never tried it and never will! I was hesitant about WW at first, but I went with a coworker and loved it! I had a really good leader. I don't go to meetings anymore b/c of $! I am going to a private university now and am paying a ton of $ to them.

Anyway, I had to put my 2 cents in about WW! It's a great plan that has taught me a lot about portion size and how to listen to my body! :D

After reading this thread last night, I thought long & hard about the it and decided "that's it". My coworker & I were discussing it at the office yesterday, and I came into work this AM and stated "I'm joining WW today, wanna go?" So, we went. :) I been in WW 4 times already. The first time I lost 27 lbs from 154 to 127 and was 2 lbs from goal when I stopped (11 years ago). I kept that weight off until I was ~21 and it came back with a vengeance plus 70 lbs! The other time I joined, I just wasn't into it. Its true, if you follow the program, it works! So, tomorrow is my first day and a fresh start....will keep you posted on my progress!

Do adult students qualify for the student discount? I know it's only $2 less a week but I am cheap, cheap, cheap!

I went to WW before and I lost 20 then got preggers again and gained 50! I am going to join again on Saturday! I cannot honestly tell people that I just had a baby as a reason for being so fat, when my baby is 6.:o

I don't know about the student rate, but I know at our WW region you get a discount if you have a certain health insurance (I forget which). I think they pay for part of it or something...not sure. But I also know you get a little knocked off of the price if you use your Kroger Plus Card too. (Not sure on the amount though).

I started the fast track today to see how it goes. Not sure if I'll stick with it the entire 2 weeks, but I wanted to see what it would be like. So far, not bad. Getting ready to have my small beef patty on a whole-grain bun with mustard and loads of veggies for lunch. :)
