Weatherford College Spring 2011 applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Hi! Who is applying to Weatherford for the spring 2011 semester?

I took the TEAS yesterday and didn't do as well as I was hoping. I am going to retake it and hopefully then I will have 18 or 19 points. It seems that the point system has changed and is only 23 possible points now, rather than 26.

I really don't know if 18 or 19 will be enough, but I haven't completed Micro so that is going to hurt me. I figure it is worth a try though! You can't win if you don't play! lol.

So who else is applying? How many points does everyone have?

I've been anxiously waiting for it and I got my letter of acceptance today so I am very happy and excited!

Hi Mandy! Congrats! I will be applying in December at WC. I will have a score of 23, an have not taken my TEAS yet. I am wondering, did you take any of your prereqs more than once? And what was your prereqs GPA if you don't mind sharing?

I'm trying to figure out my chances!!

Hi Sherri! Thank you. Have you looked at wc's new point system? The max points you can get is 23 points which include your TEAS test. And I have taken a prereq course more than once. I emailed kl about it and was told the highest grade would count. You can always call or email kl just to make sure. :) I believe if you have a total of 20-23 points, then you have a very good shot of getting in, but it also depends on the pool of applicants. So just because you don't end up with that many points doesn't mean you won't get accepted. And my prereqs gpa was a 3.4.

Also, thank you Dreamer for the info on the CPR class! And congrats to Someday on making it on the alternate list as well! :)

I am also just referring to the science classes when mentioning the prereqs since as long as you've taken and passed all the other courses (coreqs) then you automatically get 5 points for those.

As long as you do well in the sciences and on the TEAS test (with the assumption you've taken all the other coreqs), I am positive you will have a high chance of getting in. :p

Thanks Mandy!:yeah:...and yes I have all the coreqs taken, and an A in college math.

I did screw up though, and I currently have a score of 9 not 11. I gave myself 6 points instead of four for that math A.

Had two A's in Micro and A&P on Sunday, dropped down to a B after a Micro test on Monday. Blaaa! I hate bacteria!

I'm thinking the biggy for me will be this TEAS test.

Np! Do you know when you plan on taking the TEAS test yet?

I called the testing center today, had to leave a message and no one returned my call... I'm starting to study this week. I am going to leave time to test twice in case I need it.

Mandy congrats to you on getting into the program. Did you apply to any other schools?

All the best to you.

Mandy and someday, did you enjoy Orientation today? I think my head is still spinning from all of the information! LOL!!

Haha, I know! Orientation was fun and quite interesting. Everyone was so nice and it was funny watching them do the tongue twisters. I'm excited! :)

I had so much fun at orientation, everyone was so sweet. The next couple of months I will be on pins and

needles waiting and hoping for a phone call. Still grateful to be an alternate!!
