Weatherford College Spring 2011 applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Hi! Who is applying to Weatherford for the spring 2011 semester?

I took the TEAS yesterday and didn't do as well as I was hoping. I am going to retake it and hopefully then I will have 18 or 19 points. It seems that the point system has changed and is only 23 possible points now, rather than 26.

I really don't know if 18 or 19 will be enough, but I haven't completed Micro so that is going to hurt me. I figure it is worth a try though! You can't win if you don't play! lol.

So who else is applying? How many points does everyone have?

I got mine in. Not too happy with the amount of points I had, but WC was/is my second choice anyway. We'll see. I have a feeling if I get a letter at all, it will be for the Alternate List.

How many points did you end up with? I only had 16 so I highly doubt I have a chance. I haven't taken micro yet though.

I ended up with 17 points. The 6 points I lost all came from the TEAS test. I had the most possible points in Prerequisite and Corerequisite classes. I scored an overall 81% on the TEAS, and even though I tested above National Average on all 4 subjects, I just don't think it was good enough for the point system WC has in place, or the amount of seats they have available. A week after applications were due, KL did say that the points she was seeing in the couple dozen applications she had worked were lower than last semester. Oh well, it's just "Wait and See" at this point.

Has anyone talked to KL or heard about how the points are looking on the applications? Just curious.

I haven't heard anything, but am so anxious. I would also love to know if anyone has spoken with KL. I really doubt I even have a shot with my 16 pts, but for whatever reason I still want to know!

I received a package from WC today. Two and a half months before letters were supposed to go out, I received a packet telling me I had been selected as an ALTERNATE for Spring 2011. I am beside myself right now! First of all, I wasn't expecting anything other than a rejection letter, and I sure wasn't expecting to see something like that this early on. I am still in awe!

Has anyone else received a letter from WC?

I did not get a letter yesterday. Maybe I will get one today. I only had 16 points so I am really expecting a rejection, but naturally I am hoping for an alternate letter. I won't get my mail until later today around 4ish.

Dreamer, I am so excited for you!!! I can't believe they sent out packages so soon!!! Congrats on getting the alternate letter.

I just received a letter in the mail. Unfortunately it was a rejection letter, but I really didn't think 16 points was competitive. I am really hoping to get in next app period when I will have all of my pre-reqs done!

:( I'm sorry studentCL! I have no doubt you will get an acceptance letter next semester. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Hi guys! Sorry, I've been MIA. First off, congrats Dreamer on making it to the alternate list!!! And I'm sorry you didn't get in studentCL :(, but I am positive you will get accepted next semester since you'll have all your pre-reqs done! I've been anxiously waiting for it and I got my letter of acceptance today so I am very happy and excited! I was also wondering if you guys knew of any affordable CPR classes in Fort Worth? WC offers it, but I'm checking for one closer to home first.

Congratulations Mandy!! I'll see you at Orientation on October 4th! It's going to be hard going through this whole process if I never get "the call" before classes start.

As for the CPR class, I am registered to take it at Harris Methodist (THR) HEB in October, and it was $35 to sign up. Check out this website: http://www.texashealth.org/body_secure.cfm?xyzpdqabc=0&id=3334&registration=true&action=list

and select BLS for Healthcare Provider under the CPR section.

Congrats Dreamer!! I also found out that I am on the alternate list at WC!! So excited!!
