Hello...I am going to be applying for the LVN program.....I just learned of the point system.....Can someone please tell me what is the least amount of points someone has been accepted with?
I am sad I didn't get into the ADN program but got into the LVN program for the Fall 2015. Rather start something then keep sitting around waiting to get into the nursing programs. Who else is going to be going in the Fall?
I am! Congratulations!! I've heard it's a good program and prepares you for the ADN program pretty well.
I finally got it! But I'm confused on this scanning files to the certified profile. And when exactly does class start?
Congratulations! You just scan every piece of required information into the correct place. Your CPR, shot records, physical, etc. Just upload the documents and they will review them and either approve or deny them. Classes start August 24th
Orientation morning is kinda frazzled.... I feel like it could be set up diffently. But after that, you will hear from current students who are about to graduate. They will be speaking to you guys and then you have chances tp ask everyone questions about the program. You will also meet your future potential clinical instructors. You will also get information on textbook packages......MY ADVICE ( for those who arent rich) buy your textbooks used, if possible. I got called the first day of class so I had no choice but to buy the 1st semester package and it was like 500, maybe more. Had I had enough time to prepare, I would have bought them on ebay or amazon.
Oh, and your scrub colors are hunter green
PD82, you said the first semester was $500 for books? We all went into the bookstore after orientation and the the girl that was working at the time wrote down like $1100;$700 for E-books. I asked her if this was just for the first semester package and she said yes!!! Please tell me she was wrong! You post gives me hope. I've been a little stressed over this all weekend. I was planning on going on Amazon to look but I know it'd still be pretty pricey.
The first 2 semesters are 8-12 hour Clinicals (depending on your site and your instructor) and when we finally started Clinicals it was 2 days a week- sometimes 3 days in third semester. One day a week was all skills class and the other days was classroom stuff. I wanna say that Friday was our half day, and nothing on the weekends.Seems intense, and it is, but remember you follow the college school schedule so you get a week off in between semesters, holidays off, winter/spring break, etc-- and you will NEED that mental break!!
My advice- plan ahead for everything. Don't miss a day....ever!!!! You never know when a pop quiz worth a grade will happen, and any little thing can bring your grade down. You need a 75 or higher in each class and it's easy to fall behind. We lost many students due to stuff like that. Our class started with 35 and at graduation there were 14.
Hey would you mind kind of explaining how the schedules were each week so I have an idea of making work and school mesh, I want to apply for the LVN program then eventually bridge but I'm worried about not making enough money to support my family my spouse is helping but it's still stressing me out.
Can any of you tell me what your deadline dates were and when orientation was scheduled? I'm applying for the fall 2016 program but didn't plan on moving back to Texas until the end of June. I was curious if those deadlines and orientation dates were going to force me to move earlier. Please! Anybody help!
