  1. I did not take the job. during the interview I found out the benefits were not as initially proposed to me by the principal (he didn't know that the nurses were considered non classified rather than the teachers/administrators). I would not have year round salary pay, I would have hourly 180 work days pay, and my insurance would not be 100% covered for me and my children, it would only be medical for me with also paying vision and dental for myself. I could not financially take the hit. Maybe one day this will work out but as for now it was a no go. Thank you for all the advice and comments!
  2. Thank you sooo much for your advice! You are the best! I have the interview tomorrow to go over all the details!
  3. RN looking for some advice on a job offer. I currently work in Home Health using my own vehicle working in my local county with a pretty flexible schedule, reimbursed a certain amount of my mileage, most weekends off, rotating call about every 6 weeks, and finish my charting at home usually late at night after everything settles for the day. I was offered a school nurse position (small school, slow job) that would be a substantial pay decrease about $9hr with pros to flexibility with my 2 kids (13 and 15) as I would be on their schedule, paid insurance, pension, paid year round and summers off work. Taking this job scares me for the pay decrease as I am a single mother. I know I could work PRN somewhere else on my off school schedule to make up some of the difference. Any advice?? Background: I was an LPN before getting my RN. I have worked in clinics, urgent care, hospital, HH, and a short time in long term care
  4. We have a Facebook group! Weatherford LVN Fall 2016
  5. Ok ladies, I tried to start a group but I need some names to add to the group.... so if you don't want to put them on here you can email me [email protected], my name is Ashley Houston
  6. I understand completely I have 3. Where will you be driving from? I will be driving from Boyd.
  7. From reading previous posts, clinicals vary from 8 to 12 hours depending on site and/or instructor and will be 2 days a week and then maybe 3 when the time comes to start them.
  8. Ok I found out it is only at the main campus. So that's clarified. Another question I have is how many papers did you get in your envelope? I got my letter, my certified profile paper, and a pink one for my drug screen. I have already did my background check last semester because I applied to the spring program and got accepted but had to decline due to family emergencies. Anyway, my question is am I missing a paper for my background check/fingerprinting because I have already done it or do I need to do it again? According to the letter, it says the attached paper Service Code form but I don't seem to have that form. And of course this is suppose to be turned in by 5/16 but Karen is out of the office till the 16th and the other secretary doesn't know. So can you help and tell me how many papers you got? And we should start a FB page for our group!
  9. I am closer to the Wise County campus but my letter just has all the main campus info. I emailed Karen Long but she's out till the 16th. So I emailed Tammi White, just to ask. Beggars can't be choosers, I will take whatever, I'm so ready to get my nursing goals started.
  10. I got my acceptance letter. Whoop whoop! Is the LVN program only at the main campus??
  11. I got my letter today. I got in! Whoop, whoop! How do you know which campus you are accepted to? Does your letter specify because mine just has the main campus info?
  12. I applied with 10 I think. Haven't received any letters yet, anybody else???
  13. Can any of you tell me what your deadline dates were and when orientation was scheduled? I'm applying for the fall 2016 program but didn't plan on moving back to Texas until the end of June. I was curious if those deadlines and orientation dates were going to force me to move earlier. Please! Anybody help!
  14. I got the same email..... Ughhhh driving me crazy!
