Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

From what I remember from sitting through orientation last time, the cost of books and supplies for the first semester is somewhere around $2000 for those fortunate ones that do get in!

Wow. Maybe we can buy them used somewhere...?

I am in the Keller/N Fort Worth are too. For me it is 40 miles to WC and 39 miles to WCWC, so there is not really a difference. I started taking classes again two years ago to go back for nursing and have slowly chipped away at almost everything. Actually weatherford was not even on my radar because I just thought it would be too far, but if you take into account the traffic getting to downtown Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Denton or Irving the drive could actually end up being longer. After learning more about Weatherford it has become my top choice. I like the smaller classes and have heard great things about the program. So fingers crossed! It is going to be a looooong next 6 (to 8?!) weeks.

Nooooo!!!!! I just want to start the countdown for letters already!

Tarelton is run through TCC Trinity River as a satellite campus. You should be able to get more info online. Also UTA, A&M & Tech all have Rn to BSN bridge programs. UTA has online and class option, where the other two are strictly online. You can find all of their info online too and see what their prerequisites are. They are not all the same so I made a spreadsheet and am just chipping away at those too.

Nooooo!!!!!

The price of the books? Yeah its pretty bad!! Or the school closing? Because Im probably going to cry if they change the deadline again...

I knew the first semester would be the most. It's the extension of the deadline again!

Do you have any idea when orientation is held? Just curious.

My health science club at TCC has a meeting this afternoon at 3:30 and the Tarleton rep from the bridge program is coming as a guest speaker so I will try to find out some info for yall if you want

That would be great thank you!

I have no idea. I would assume it will be sometime soon after we receive our letters, maybe the beginning of the summer? We will all need time to get all our medical examinations/vaccines/CPR done and Im sure they will go over all that at orientation.

Sorry guys they canceled because the weather is about to start getting bad again but I will update yall as soon as we get rescheduled

Yeah I was wondering the same thing about them extending the deadline but am hoping since they already extended it so much that they won't extend it anymore because it seems as though all of us have already turned everything in and are just playing the waiting game now! From what I remember the orientation is held sometime in mid to late July but that could always change cause that was a year ago. Also as far as buying the books and supplies used I'm pretty sure we weren't able to last semester because they are custom. Could totally be wrong so I would not completely rely on this. We should find out a lot more info when we get our packets.

So maybe somebody here could help me out in answering a question! After the first semester of clinical I'm going to be looking for a Care Tech job preferably in the field of pediatrics, any ideas? I currently work at Texas Health but am looking to go into the pediatric side of things and would prefer to be at Cooks or Children's Medical since they specialize in pediatrics! Does anybody else have any other recommendations?
