Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!
I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)
I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!
Y'all are really awesome to share the information. It is so helpful not only during the application process but for piece of mind as well. I was told that my grades and Hesi were really good, but like I said I am still pending in a couple of classes which puts my overall points a little lower than they will be next admission period but I felt like it might be competitive enough to throw my application in early. It sure would have been nice to get those residency points! That two points is quiet the boost when it comes down to it. Wishing you all the best! With my luck the letters will go out while I am on vacation. Maybe it will come just prior and I can celebrate! Here is hoping!
Yes JLT5 I do also live in Keller over off 377 and North Tarrant so either campus would be somewhat of a drive for myself. I did apply to both campuses but I put down the Wise County campus as my first choice. It also doesn't hurt to throw your application in early because you never know. KL has told me in the past that there are some application periods where they take all of the students so there is always hope, you never know unless you try! This is my third time applying so hopefully third time is a charm! Is there anybody else on here coming out of the Keller area or North Fort Worth area?
Im right here in weatherford so Weatherford is defiantly my first choice. My babysitter is literally 1 minute away from the college and Hospital so my life would be so much easier if I get into the Weatherford, but I think after two years of waiting for this I would take the WCWC program as well. This is only my first time applying and I heard that a lot of first timers don't get in... Not sure how accurate that is though! Yall have quite a drive if you have drive from Keller to Wise County! We should all be hopeful because like you said there is really no way to know what the cut off will be. But assuming that everyone lost about 4 points considering the point change, and last semesters cutoff was 35 (with a decent TEAS score, there were a lot of applicants with 35 points last semester) then Im GEUSSING that the new cut off for this semester will be 31... That's my GEUSS. Obviously that could very easily change based on the scores and the amount of students who apply, but that's just my two cents :)
Yeah the cutoff for Wise County was 32 last semester because I was 31 and was an alternate for Wise that semester. Yeah it would be quite a drive but after waiting for a couple of years I will take whatever I can get at this point. Yeah I've heard the same thing about first time applicants not getting in but it seems as though you are well ahead of the curve as compared to most first time applicants. When I applied the first time I hardly had any co-reqs and also didn't have many credit hours towards BSN. I would love the extra points for residency but hopefully 33 will be enough. I think your points estimation is probably pretty close bc Karen did say that a lot of the applications that she was seeing only had one or two points from the TEAS!

She said that as of right now 34 points was competetive and her exact words were "I think you'll be okay to get get into weatherford". But she also said that that could change as they file through more applications.. and I hope some were for the lvn program because it was one honking big stack! Also something that she said was "Bs or higher are competetive!". So that's probably good for must of us here because I'm pretty sure most of us got at least Bs on all our prereqs!
I will also be stalking my mailman! I can't wait! I hope that everyone who has posted gets accepted. The fact that we are commenting on here already puts us ahead because it shows our determination! I'm so excited!
