Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

I talked to her yesterday when I dropped off my application and she confirmed my 31 points. I felt good about it but do not really have anything new to add. I did ask about the schedule and she said that in April when the letters go out we should have an idea what that first semester will look like. We will see what the cut off ends up being with this new point system...

Yeah right now I feel pretty good about my points but Im still so nervous.. Did you loose a couple points with the new point system? Im a little frustrated by it because I would have gotten like another 3 or 4 points with the old system.

I am down 3 points also, but everyone seems to be in the same boat and that should be reflected in the minimum cut off for points this admission period as well.

They have extended the Deadline to next Tuesday March 3 because of the lost snow days. I am now freaking out as to whether I should retake my TEAS. I felt really good before and now I'm just freaking out.

AH! Is this confirmed?? That would be so helpful.

Also, If I want to apply to both Weatherford & Wise, do I need to have 2 separate packets? Or do we just check both campus on one packet along with one set of transcripts & our Hepatitis proof??

I think it's just one packet and you check both. I don't think you need two of every thing. And yes this is confirmed. Karen Long emailed me earlier. How far is wcwc from weatherford? I originally was only going to apply to weatherford but I'm considering wcwc too!

Here is an interesting little bit of information I learned today from Karen Long (who is probably getting really tired of me emailing her lol)

"For applicants who test (TEAS) in February, we allow them o retest in July so that they get a chance to retest during the next application period."

So if any of yall were worried about using that second chance and not being able to retake the test for the summer application period, worry not! Communication is so important. We can learn so much if we just ask and share information! So everyone comment and keep us all updated!

Whew I can breathe a little easier now! I just finished taking my TEAS again and scored an 82 this time which will put me at 33 points! Going to turn in my app tomorrow if the weather permits and I will let you all know if KL says anything about how points stand. If anybody needs a way to study for the TEAS for future reference I would absolutely recommend the tutoring sessions and also the online tutoring through Weatherford. The online tutoring alone helped me out a lot more than the ATI book did!

By online tutoring are you referring to the my skills tutor? I gave that a shot and honestly it didn't help me too much. But congrats on your TEAS! Karen Long had told me that as of yesterday 34 points was still competitive so I think youll be great with 33 points. She said most people were only getting only 1 or 2 points from the TEAS so you getting 5 will already put you ahead! Remember that if you have the same amount of points as someone else then the first thing they look at is your TEAS score! Im retaking mine on Monday and really hoping to get that 83! But let us know what she says when you turn your application in! Good luck!

I am applying to the Wise County campus with a total of 32 points!

Yeah I was talking about the online skills tutor and it helped me a ton surprisingly! Of course I hadn't taken an English or Science course in a couple of years so it may have just been more brushing up than anything! And yeah going up there on Friday didn't work for obvious reasons but I will be going up there on Monday after I get off work for sure. And yes KL also told my girlfriend who is also applying for both campuses that most people have only been getting one or two points on the TEAS and yes I did know about the tie breaker! Yeah hopefully all of us that are posting on here make it in! I was an alternate for Fall 2014 and had to go through orientation and still didn't get a spot.....talk about a buzz kill. Anyway I'll let all of you know what I hear from Karen when I go up there!

I am so ready for this six week countdown to start!

6 weeks seems like forever.....I hope all of us get accepted, please God. started praying already.
