Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

I haven't decided yet when I want to try my first attempt at it. I'm applying this summer but I want to give myself plenty of time I was contemplating a first attempt about mid semester and if I don't like the outcome I'll take another closer to the end of the semester

well , I have taken it before last go round. I dont find the online practice test too helpful considering 89 overall on practice translated to 72 overall actual exam , The point thing is getting me nervous however. I will be taking HESI 2A as well to apply TCC and UTA

Sorry I haven't got back with everyone! I lost my password to allnurses and haven't had a chance to sit down and reset it between the new semester and school and kids! It looks like I will only be applying with 34 points! I'm retaking my TEAS on Saturday to see if I can boost my points a little bit but I don't have high hopes. I wonder if it will be enough?! Good luck to everyone :)

Asmyth12 I haven't looked through all the comments completely so idk if you already know about this but be sure to attend the TEAS V/ COMPASS workshop in April. Its run by Beverly Bibbs. I attended one last week and it was very useful. You should have gotten an email to your weatherford college student email (if you are a student). The class goes over the science and math sections. Its well worth it. Just thought Id share that with you! Good luck!

Thanks I will look

Is it just me or does it not seem like as many people are posting this semester as they did in the last semesters? Maybe that means that not as many people are applying for the program this time around!! I will be applying for both campuses but only have 30 points after taking my TEAS and would have had 36 if it was on the old system so I'm not really sure how all of this is going to stack up in the end. Talked to Karen today and she said that most people have only been getting 1 and 2 points for their TEAS so I guess that's a little comforting! I will be taking the TEAS again on the 26th right before the deadline in order to try and boost my score a bit! Fingers crossed!! Where is everybody else applying?

I am applying to both WC & WCWC campuses. This is the only ADN program I can competitively (hopefully) apply to for the Fall admission time frame as I am still taking A&P2 this semester. If I am not accepted this go-round I am planning to apply to WC again for the spring and to TCC, El Centro/Northlake and UTA. But I am really hoping to get into either the WC or WCWC campuses for the fall. We will see how this new point system all shakes out though... I felt a lot more confident about where I stood with the previous point system. I have been putting off turning in my application, but I think that I have decided to wait and take the TEAS a second time if I am not accepted into the program for the fall. I am planning on taking my application up there next week, so if I get any sort of feedback from KL I will let you all know! And yes, hopefully not as many people are applying... that is probably wishful thinking but I am just going to go with it.

Oh yeah I felt a lot better about the old point system also. How are you on points JLT5 if I may ask? I am only sitting at 30 right now which seems sort of low cause I was an alternate for the Fall 2014 program and had 32 points. This new point system just scares me and I would really like to know how things shake out! I plan on taking my TEAS again on the 26th right before the deadline to hopefully bump my points up at least a couple.

Of course, I do not mind at all. I posted before, I am sitting at 31 points and scored 82 overall on the TEAS. With the old point system I would be sitting at 34 points. And I am currently taking A&P2 so I am anticipating to have another 2-3 points if I am not accepted this application period.

I officially applied today with 34 points! Karen said that that was a competitive score (as of right now)! She said that a lot of students were applying with around 30/31 points. My TEAS was an 82 so Im seriously reconsidering retaking it so that I can try to push to an 83 and get those extra points but not sure right now! Karen also said that the cut off would probably be a whole lot lower this semester because of the new point system. I wish it was the old one because I would have had 38 points with the old one! But I hope everyone is getting all their applications turned in and finishing up their TEAS! Post and keep us all updated!

Ah!!!! You just made me even more nervous! I am going in on Thursday so I will let you know if I hear anything else. I am right there with you at 82 on the TEAS. I have gone back and fourth trying to decide whether or not to take it again as well. Best of luck to you!!

Good luck if you retake it! Im leaning towards not retaking it because if I don't get accepted and I retake it then I wont be able to retake it this summer for the spring semester! Karen told me to come see her the last week of February and said that she could give me a better idea of if I really need to retake it or not. Right now she said 34 is very competitive but she also said that she usually gets swamped with applications in the last couple weeks so who knows! Im so nervous!
