Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

I have not been able to reach Karen yet and then I realized they are in the process of going through current applications and she's probably swamped. I wanted to ask you about the TEAS scoring the points listed for each grade level bracket has a certain set of points are each of those sets of points for a total grade on the test or each section? I'm getting myself confused because the points for the HESI at another program I have looked into are for each section not overall grade.

I just looked at the new points on the website and yes.... it looks like your points for the TEAS are based on your total adjusted individual score....(which is your score on the whole test somehow averaged with the national average or something along those lines...I forget exactly what it was...) anyway it is your score for the entire test.

this is a change from what it was...you used to get points based on your score on each section

Ok that's what I thought too I just wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly thank you for helping with my posts :)

Has anyone taken the TEAS V yet? I am scheduled to take it next week and am a little nervous. I just felt more confident about where I stood before the changes to the TEAS point system were made.

TLizS any words of advice regarding the TEAS V? And do you happen to know how many spots there is for fall admittance at WC & WCWC? I saw that there were 25 for your Spring 2015 class but was not sure if that was the same for the fall. Thanks!

JLT5 I'm not sure if it will help at this point but I went on WC's website and searched skills software and pulled up the free program I saw someone on here mention you just email the admin and they will give you access to login and use free teas study software

45 (or somewhere around there) for the spring is what we were told before....(not sure if that is both campuses or not though?)

My advice is to get in touch with the success connection on campus and find out about the skills tutor online platform. It's free and by far the most helpful thing I did to study. Before I took the TEAS the first time I studied the ATI book....did all the practice tests....I did decent the first time...but not up to par with what I expected.

before I took the TEAS the second time I worked through the skills tutor....it helped me so much more....it is great....it quizzes you on all of the topics and will tell you what you struggle with the most and give you questions to practice those topics

Thank you TLizS. I took the TEAS on the 20th and hope I did well enough. I am still finishing up some classes and my points are right at the minimum for last semester so we will see how this new point system shakes out.

I did have a question for you regarding the first semester. Can you share what your schedule looks like? I have three kiddos and it is registration time for preschools and I have no idea what I am going to need as far as days a week, etc. any insight you could give me would be so helpful! Thanks again!

Which TEAS study guide do you guys recommend? I've seen the one by ATI and the one by McGraw hill and trivium test prep....

our schedule is tue 8-5, wed 8-2, fri 8-12, and clinicals every other thursday 6:30-2:30

no idea if it will be the same for the first semester fall students or not...I think it varies on how they have to schedule in order to get everyone some time in the skills labs, etc

Thank you so much!

I just used the ATI book and I also purchased the online tests through ATI. I scored a 82% overall. Low point was science, and surprisingly my reading score was a lot lower than I had gotten on any of the practice exams. I am thinking that that may have to do with my nerves and the fact that the lights went off in the testing center for a good 20 mins during that portion of the exam. My results showed that my score was in the 92% but I don't feel like I did well enough and am tossing around the idea of taking it a second time (begrudgingly) to see if I can do better before I turn in my application. I would feel a lot better had the point system not changed because I would have been sitting a couple of points higher.

Ok I'm gonna look into that one. I'm using the skills program through WC but I want a study guide too. I know I agree about the change to the way they use your scores on the TEAS
