Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

I am in the same boat. I took the teas for the first time this month and only have one more shot at it before spring admission period. I am also finishing A&P2 and my BSN courses so I should be up 3-4 points from that alone next admission period. That is great that she is able to give you so much information! I don't know if that it is a good thing or not though... May just make you that much more anxious! :)

If I were you I would seriously reconsider waiting to retake it! AP2 helps you so much on the TEAS! I took it twice before I had finished AP2 and Microbiology and received at 61 and 67, respectively. The first time I took it after AP2 (and some serious serious studying...) I received that 82. You just don't want to waste your chance to retake it :( Also there is a TEAS tutorial class in April that is free for anyone. So defiantly attend that if you don't get in for the fall because I think that it made a huge difference in my score, especially math. I made a 90% in math and Im awful at math. I haven't even taken algebra! Also I saw in one of your earlier posts that your a mama? Im a mother of two toddlers, so I completely understand how difficult it is! But study hard and you'll do great!

Has anyone heard the rumor that they (secretly) only accept students with their AA degree? Or associates of science degree? Someone was telling me that they will sort through the applications and make piles of the ones that have associates degrees and put the other ones aside until they've accepted all of the associates degree students... I didn't believe it, and I asked Karen Long and she no that was not true. But I was just curious if anyone else had hear that?

The new point system knocked me down about 3 points too! But if it makes you feel better, it knocked everyone else down too! Good luck on your TEAS!

That's good news for me because I have Associate in science! But I don't believe it, I think they will accept students based on the point system.

Hey guys I need some help I know some of yall applying are transferring in. I found out today that because I am still currently attending classes at Tcc and won't be taking my first class at WC they cannot process my transcript review request because it is currently incomplete since there are classes pending, one of the classes I am taking is a&p1 and I had planned on taking a&p2 over the summer but now I'm worried that's not gonna happen if they can't get my transcript review done in time to register for A&P2 at WC. Has anyone else had to deal with this?

Can you not just request a copy of your official transcript through TCC? I did that through Webadvisor (and called them to double check that the request went through) and I had my transcript in my mailbox in less than a week.

I did that but when I got a message saying it couldn't be processed due to missing information I contacted WC and found out that because I'm still currently attending courses at Tcc and have not yet registered for class at WC that they couldn't process my transcript review and that I will have to pretty much wait until I finish spring semester in May have that transcript sent and hope they get it down in time to register for a&p2 over summer one

Hmmm... I don't know. Maybe because you are currently taking the pre-req for A&P2 is why that want it completed first? Sorry, hope it works itself out for you.

Yea that's what I'm thinking too I just hope they can get it done in time for me to get the class registered I did get an email shortly ago that said I can go talk to an advisor to see if there's something they can do to allow me to register for a&p2 when the sections open for reg. and just have that contingent upon the input of my transcript after spring semester is done. Fingers crossed they'll do that

Has anyone talked to Karen Long recently? I was at the testing center last night and they said that they've had tons of people coming in to take their TEAS, like nonstop. Its making me very anxious :o

I talked to her yesterday when I dropped off my application and she confirmed my 31 points. I felt good about it but do not really have anything new to add. I did ask about the schedule and she said that in April when the letters go out we should have an idea what that first semester will look like. We will see what the cut off ends up being with this new point system...
