Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

Oh my goodness I don't know how I'm going to make it through another 6 weeks... I'm trying to keep myself distracted and busy with my other classes! I'm also toying around with the idea of applying to TCC but it's a bit of a drive so I'm thinking I wont.

You should. There is no reason not to. WC & WCWC will each be a good hour drive for me. I plan to apply to TCC for Spring 2016, but hopefully I will not have to. Any updates from Karen today?? I am ready for the admission period to close. My anxiety level is going to be crazy by the first of April!

Does the application period close today? Or did they move it again because of the snow day on friday? And I might but it means having to take the HESI which I have no experience with!

i am not sure when the admission period is closing. Regarding the Hesi you need to call TCC trinity river testing center ASAP to see if there is any openings. I went in last month to reserve a time/date to take the Hesi and they only had two available days. TCC only does testing for the Hesi twice a year, ending in March and not again until August/Sept. You can find a different facility that administers the test though. I have heard that the Hesi is a lot easier than the teas. I have not taken it yet, but have worked through the study guide and it does appear to be easier.

I'm also thinking about applying to another college, maybe that will ease my anxiety. I need a plan B just in case because I really want to start nursing school this year.

Well I won't be able to apply to TCC because they don't have anymore spots for anyone to take the HESI and any other school he said you have to already be a student so that was a bummer... but I decided to go ahead and apply to the WCWC campus as well.. it's a bit of a drive for me but I just am so ready to start nursing school as well!

Just left KL's office. She showed me this HUGE stack of applications that she has yet to even look it! It was horrible. She said the application deadline has been moved to tomorrow. She also said that the 6-8 weeks that it will take to receive our letters won't begin until after spring break! That was painful to hear... I went ahead and applied to WCWC but my first choice is of course weatherford! I'm praying very hard right now!

Yeah hopefully that 6-8 week waiting period goes by really quick! I turned in my packet yesterday with 33 points and she said that was still a very competitive number! Even though there was a HUGE stack of applications you kind of have to look at it this way, there are 45 spots at the main campus and 25 at Wise so that's 70 total spots and plus there are twelve alternates per campus so really that's 94. Even though being an alternate doesn't secure a spot necessarily there is still a chance to get in. Well good luck to everybody and hopefully we will all be in this together.

Ah!!! So the waiting game has now been further extended... I will not stress, I will not stress, I will not stress. :)

I am assuming that you didn't get a feel for where you stood as far as points and chance of admittance? I also applied to both campuses. Hopefully some of those applications in the stack are for the LVN program... Maybe?

I just got an email back from KL and she said that as of right now 33 points looks competitive but she also has nothing to compare it to since this is the first time of them using this scoring system. She also said that she has only gone through half of the applications so far and then whatever she receives tomorrow. I already know that I will be stalking my mailman everyday come April.

Thanks for sharing! I am right on the border for last admittance period points wise as I am still taking some classes, so we will see how it all shakes out. I see that you are from Keller too? Did you apply to both WC & WCWC?
