hey everyone:

just curious how many of you wear those "nursing clog" shoes at work.

I wear sneakers and have tried clogs on a few times, but I don't know how anyone could wear them all day!

I trip in crocs too! LOL. I really learned to pick up my feet or they get me everytime! :p I have never tried the danskos but have been thinking about it. I know the people I work with that wear them swear by them saying they are the best shoes out there. Now that i have trained myself to walk in my crocs (which I think are comfy) I have a hard time switching. I like that the crocs have holes and keep my feet cool. I feel like Danskos would cause sweaty hot feet. Or am I wrong?

I wear the crocs, with a heel strap. No problem getting anywhere, and have never tripped. 20 years ago my nursing shoes were just as clunky.

I had a severe bout of plantar facsiitis, to the point of using a cane briefly. Did all the stuff my podiatrist told me to, finally got it cleared up; and have worn the crocs ever since. They cushion my feet, feel springy and are totally comfortable.

I have a pair of clogs, but they are from Dr. Scholls and are called the Dancer model. I love them. Light like crocs but with a heel and arch support. I never have a sore back or sore feet, never a blister and I can wipe them off clean with cavicide if they are icky. Love them. Best shoes I ever bought. I am considering buying 10 pairs now incase they wear out over the years. I find the Dansko's too heavy. Makes my legs more tired, but I am also old.

I always wear a pair of flashy sneakers lol ;)

I wear either Danskos or Sanitas clogs. They're fine, all day. Plus I'm short and could do with the extra two inches of height.

I have a high arch and need arch support. I also need a shoe that supports the heel area as I tend to walk heel first. I can't wear flip flop for very long - I get shin spints very quickly, so Nurse Mates for me! They support my high arch and protect my heel area.

Couldn't do without my shoes. I love them. I can't wear Dansko's but do have Sanita's and Timberlands. The Sanitas did take some getting used to. They are a bit heavier than Timberlands.

So yep, I wear them and can even run in them while flying down stairs to codes!

I really wanted to love clogs. I never felt quiet right in Danskos or Sanitas. Although I don't ever really run while at work, I don't like the feeling that I couldn't if I wanted to. I wore Crocs for a while but I would bump the toe of my foot on the floor every once in a while and pitch forward--ugh. Then one day, while transporting a critical patient by gurney, I did the toe bump thing, my croc flew off and got run over by the gurney while I hopped on one foot after my co-workers trying to retrieve my shoe and catch up in time to get the elevator. So awkward! After that I started wearing shoes that would stay on my feet, that let me feel the floor, that I could run up stairs in if I had to--Adidas Sambas and Converse Chucks. My shoes have no arch support and no padding. Other nurses think I am crazy, but my feet feel better than ever, and I never trip anymore. I save my squishy, comfy shoes for when I get home.

I JUST got a pair of Alegria's and so far I love them. I've done crocs, Skecher Mary Janes, several pair of Cherokee Rockers, and a pair of NurseMate clogs and have to say they've all been pretty comfortable--the Skecher's did not hold up well on the inside though. I NEVER wear tennies/sneakers---ALWAYS nursing shoes here =)

I wear Crocs. I have about 10 pairs depending on what color scrubs I am going to be wearing for the day.

I wanted to be able to wear clogs to. I stopped wearing them because they would slip when I would walk. It was like my feet were sliding all the times. One time I had to run and my clogs came off. So I am wearing basic sneakers now, Skechers really .

Hi- Anyone try the Alegria shoes and how they rate on comfort? I've seen a lot of nurses and staff start wearing them at the hospital, but have not tried them. I don't know if people are just buying them for the looks or if they're really comfortable.

They're very comfortable! They have good arch support, but still good cushion. I love them.

To answer the OP, I sometimes wear the croc-like clogs, including Anywears and other similar, but I do not like the Dansko-type clogs. They kill my feet.
